"When elephants fight...the grass gets hurt"

First heard it several decades ago and, over time, it's become the first random thought that drifts into the back of my mind whenever I hear news about the different conflicts around the world.

Be it the "Troubles" between Ireland & Briton, the seemingly endless strife between Israel and Hamas or any ongoing conflict one cares to name, "When two powers battle it is the people that suffer"

If you are filled with pride, then you will have no room for wisdom.

Oogum oogum boogum boogum

Boogum now baby you're castin' your spell on me

I say, "Oogum oogum boogum boogum

Boogum now baby you're castin' you're spell on me"

It means

When you wear your high heeled boots with your hip hugger suit

It's all right, you're outta sight

And you wear that cute mini skirt with your brother's sloppy shirt

I admit it, girl that I can dig it

Dear Friend RIO: You are most welcome.

One Proverb, from Ethiopia reminds me of a passage from Scripture.

The One in question is, "A good name is better than a good perfume".

In Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) 7:1 it is written, "Shem tov como shemen tov".

"A good name is like a precious oil".

Spot on!

Interesting how universal is the wisdom of earning respect through merit.

Peace, Blessings, and a Good Name for One and All.

Enoch.
