I was researching Ireland a bit [oh, as if I would ever be able to move there:], and in the 'May' section of this Blog I noticed this Butterfly and thought of you.
The detail just popped out at me: the sort of Greek looking writing (lol) at top inner edges of the wings, the gold, glittery effect near the body, the blood-dripping eyes at the top, and the wildcat blue lion eyes at the bottom; and of course, all of the color patterns in general. I even like the brown edges and rusty-brown colored body.
It was stated somewhere that they hibernate in the winter, with folded wings that allows them to blend in with tree bark, and that they are quite prolific in Ireland.
I thought this was so incredibly beautiful when I came across it. I thought about Mac and his love for Butterflies.
Wow Chloe, the butterfly is spectacular.
I know that Mac will enjoy the beauty of it.
Hi Kav... I thought it was spectacular, too! I don't know if he's posted anything like that before. I hope he likes it.
Hi RW... Happy you like it! I think they are only common in Ireland. It's from the Blog noted above.
U R welcome!
Thank you, Chloe,
You have given me a perfect gift!
And here is one in return.
A Painted Lady Butterfly for Chloe
Hi AMac! So happy you saw it and like it!

Oh, Thank you! So very pretty! (and she goes well with my bunny suit:)
Such an interesting and unique pattern of shapes of orange on the top wings--as if they were drawn to represent something.
I love it. Thank you, again.
