This Morning in My Backyard
I'm a lifelong Philly boy; like other major American cities, Philly has its share of bad stuff -- urban blight, violence, fiscal woes.
But, Philly also has some big pluses -- among them is its huge park system and preservation of forested areas -- one of which is literally my back yard.
And, in that back yard, this morning, stood one of my neighbors.
I've known this young buck since he was a fawn matter of fact, he was born in my backyard; I also know his sisters, his mom and his dad.
Philly; it's not only sometimes referred to as "The City of Brotherly Love," but also as "A City of Neighborhoods."
I dig my neighbors!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood boys and girls.
He looks fearless !
Petey,
His father was even bigger!
The herd has lived in the woods behind my house for years; I believe it to be comprised of 20-25 individuals at this point in time.
Very nice Mac. I didn't realize that Philly had such a great park system.
I'm much more familiar with ''Philly Fighters''...
Pop and Jr. are both nice city deer, A. Mac., cool pictures. Thanks for sharing.
The burbs are also trapping small herds with the rapid housing development.Earlier this year,I was on my way to work and looked to the left and saw about 10 or soof them holding whitetail games in the field. The following week the entire field was being developed for housing. Now monthslater, most of those houses are being lived in. I hope the deer got out ok.
There is another small herd (10-15) in the borough of Lansdale, PA. (pop. Abt. 15K+) I saw a 6-8 pointer from that group about midnight, which was closer to the size of the father in your pictures. They can still survive in those conditions for sure.
How wonderful that this buck has history in your backyard, Mac! Wow, beautiful photo too.
Wonderful A.Mac, one of GOD precious creatures...
