A wonderful Philadelphia music tradition. Exposes many musical styles and performances.

I'm not connected with the festival except by experience.

I admit that I'm not a follower of folk as a rule (in fact any music the past several years), but it looks like a good time will be had by all. I see Arlo is going to be there, but I'm sort of surprised not to see John Prine on the list? Of course he may be touring Europe right now.

Still, enjoy!

No JP, but will a story do? Arlo was very good. Try the link sound quality is very well done too.

I saw Arlo way back in 1976 at The University of North Dakota when I was stationed up there in the AF. I saw John Prine 5 or 6 years later in Kalamazoo at The State Theater. Both were great shows, but I have to see them again sometime, if only to see how they've changed.

Yes, a story would do. And I'll give that link a listen too.

My friends lived in a box truck one year at this festival. Food was cooking, guitars singing and feeling no pain, a man wandered in to their camp and sat down and started playing along. It was a few minutes before they all realized who it was, so they offered him what they were eating and JP sang for his supper. They tried to wake some of the others, but they got the story too. As the story was told to me.

I just watched Arlo's video. Damn he still sounds good! Impossible for me to believe it's been nearly 40 years since the concert in ND. Now I do feel old! Funny, but on the inside in many ways I still see myself as just as young and sitting there off to the side of the stage.Grin.gif
