Birdie Language (a.k.a "Bird Body Language")
If one observes birds (and certain other critters) long enough and carefully enough, it becomes evident over time that they display "body language".
I'm not saying that I know what birds may be "saying," but it sure seems to me they're saying somethin'!
This immature Cardinal may be saying, "While my plumage is not yet complete, am I still not rather distinguished looking."
Tail raised as if a "flag of victory," this Catbird may be displaying a "proud yet somehow humble" stance.
Little Blue Heron: "Where the hell did I drop my cell phone?"

When they are challenging another bird, they usually stare at the other with their beak open. Like this:
Heron - Where is Kavika's deck, I have to poop.
Cat Bird . . ."What the hell was that" ??
Nice shots as usual Mac.
