Summer is the Season of Macro Photography Opportunities

Wildflowers, gardens in full bloom and summer weather in general provide great opportunities for MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY. Generically speaking, "macro" refers to filling a frame with essentially one object.

With digital camera sensors, "close ups" are a whole new ballgame.

Due to advances in sensor technology, todays small-sensor digital cameras can rival the macro capabilities of a single lens reflex camera with a true macro lens making macro photography more widely accessible at a lower cost.

Move on in fill the frame but use common sense (like with venomous critters).

6385_discussions.jpg?width=721 A Squash Bee. They specialize in plants in the squash family. Bigger than a honey bee, smaller than a bumble bee. The male waits inside the blossom for a female to come by to mate. They live underground. This one was on my squash plant. I'm still figuring out how to take macro photos with my new camera. I'll figure it out, eventually.
