Joke of the Day-- An original!
Tonight at supper, Peep, our 14 year old son, was talking about the history blog he enjoys, and was talking about the 50 most influential people in World History, as listed by someone on the site... He complained that there was no one on the list, beyond a few, that he had even heard of, and they had missed obvious ones! (He's pretty good at history, and he came up with good ones, but he is also pretty funny, some times...)
Anyway, he said, "They didn't even mention Ben Franklin!"
His dad said, "Ben Franklin?"
And I said, "Peep, no disrespect to Ben Franklin, but what did he do that was so influential over the world?"
"Bi-focals," he answered without hesitation.
"Peep," I asked, "what countries rose or fell, because of bi-focals?"
And then... We shared this mental image:

Napoleon should have turned Left at Berlin, not right! Or as Bugs Bunny used to say, "I shoulda taken a left at Albuquerque!"
So "unlax", and laugh for a bit! What funny has happened at your house lately?
I "toin left" in Albuquerque every day.
You forgot one. And one to write a best selling book about the whole horrible ordeal and to go on Oprah.
GRUMP -- LOL, my dear friend! I know you do!
Someday, maybe I'll get to come to Albuquerque and give my dear Grump a kiss on the cheek and a hug.
Much esteem, love, support, respect, prayers, and you name it, heading your way...
Grump, there was a radio show when I was a kid-- local station. My mother occasionally filled in at the radio station when people went on vacation, so she knew everyone there. When I turned 5 years old, Mama turned on the radio at noon, because I had a special message! The radio announcer was named JoAnna, and she had a morning kids show-- but at noon, she came on the air for a "Special Announcement". Happy birthday to Marsha! She gets a good girl star, and there was this wonderful Tinker Bell-like, zapping sound! So, I would like to send to you a good boy star! I can't find the EXACT sound... but zzzzZZZZZOWIE...
LOL, dear Mickey!
I would say 4. One to screw I the light bulb, two to discuss the violation of the socket, and one to make the protest signs...
Well, Dowser, one must give credit where credit is due, right?
Grump, no wonder you are so far left! (just kidding, ya know!)
LOL! Absolutely!
Peep's complaint was that Archimedes had invented the screw, but wasn't on the list. But Gutenberg was. Now, how could Gutenberg have invented the printing press without a screw? LOL!
I do see his point...
Absolutely! Contribution to the printing press was contribution to humanity. It all began with a screw.
