Love that woodie woodpecker. Great shot. Your mourning dove looks very lovely, too. She striked a pose.

Don't they look simply ready for action? At least the woodpecker and the blue jay do. Amazing shots, Mac. Thank you!

The Dove has the ''come hither'' look going on. The Bluejay better pay attention.

All three are wonderful, but the dove is very special! She looks shy, to me! Smile.gif

Some of those branches look stripped of bark A. Mac. Are they sets of your own design?

They're Yellow Poplar branches; squirrels strip them and use the bark as nesting material.

Thank you Dowser; I have contended for a long time that birds display body language. I think the best bird "portraits" are those that show that very phenomenon.

Thank you, Souls,

I see the same species you noted plus some others, but, no bluebirds usually.

Are these still from your window studio? or are you up and around ?

These are from the window, but, for the most part, I'm also "up and around." Don't know if I'll ever be 100% again, but I'm o.k. -- thanks for asking.

Sorry to hear you are not well.

I enjoy seeing the birds from your area. We have Morning Doves here, usually one Blue Jay a year that a few good birders can chase down (not me yet) and never a Red-bellied Woodpecker.

Great photos, thanks for sharing. Smile.gif

Sorry to here you are not well.

Thanks for your concern; I tore my left Achilles tendon last November and went through rehab. Currently I'm doing leg curls and presses to re-build strength in both legs. For the most part, I'm doing mostly what I did pre-injury.

That will really set you back. It takes a long time to heal a part of the body we use all the time.

I'm not quite sure how to post pic's without doing it where someone has posted their pic, and I don't want to use their spot.

Just use the "Reply" function and click on the "Image" icon in the tool bar (second icon from the left). That will open a browse box and enable you to select the image from your computer and upload it/them.

Same process when you add a Discussion.
