Wrap Me in Purple!

Spring was a bit late this year. The usual blooms didn't appear at the usual time. My Clematis, usually one of the first signs of spring wrap around one corner of my deck, a deep purple against the white of the fence, unabashedly smiling at me, with their large soft petals, so smooth and velvety, have finally appeared. 6622_discussions.jpg?width=750

Clematis - we have one just like that. We always joke around about the name of that plant, since it sounds like a cross between genitalia and venereal disease. My lady always blushes when I tell her how pretty her clematis is.

Lol, Hal, I can certainly imagine the blush on your lady's cheek! The name is such, I suppose. Thanks for stopping by to remind me of the similarity of names!

What a beautiful bloom. They don't grow well here and require constant care and protection from the dry air and heat. My mom and dad had one at their place, but it never did well. Great photo.

We have two white ones, nowhere near as pretty as this.

Oooohh. That is pretty!

The Wisteria bush and the redbuddidn't come out like they usually do down here on the farm, might have had something to do with the fact that right in the middle of blooming we went from 85 to 28 degrees and it snowed three inches... in May... in Missouri. Ack!

Did manage to get a few shots though. Since the title and theme of the article is Wrap Me in Purple, here is one of them.

Thank you, Grump! I don't think the climate over by you is much good for poor clematis. But you have other bright blooms in the desert that are lovely too!Smile.gif

Oh, I am sure the white ones are gorgeous too, luther! I bet they would look lovely against a darker backdrop. Thanks for visiting mine!Smile.gif

Those match my purple beauties, Brolly. They look very pretty as buds and am sure will blossom into lovely flowers. Thank you for the beautiful photo!Smile.gif
