Little Town in Germany
I really have enjoyed living in Hochspeyer, Germany. It is not really little but it has a small town feel.About 1/2 block from where I live there are two banks and 1 Bckerei. Then about 1/2 mile there are 2 more Bckerei.Goodness the town smells so good all the time, and you can eat brotchen all day if you want to be big as the side of a house in about a week.
My husband & I belong to the Hochspeyer German/American Social Club our last meeting about a month ago the Brgermeister joined us so we could figure out how to create our flowers to show unity for the Germans and Americans in Hochspeyer. We are still looking for the right flowers.
I wish you could see the drive that we have to get to this point it is breath taking. I will try to give you a little glimpse.
one more I'm trying to teach my husband how to use the camera.
Today I went grocery shopping and forgot my camera at home so I will have to go back out tomorrow. The fields are so beautiful with theyellow flowers they use for making salad dressing. Next month or so it will be lavender
In Germany dandy lions are not weeds, they are food, so you do not destroy them you pluck them and eat them, well the leaves anyway. Due to the late cold the Tuplips are still out I took this picture yesterday.
Beautiful pictures Debora. My husband used to work for BMG/RCA, so I got to spend a lot of time in Germany. Bavaria is one of the prettiest places that I have ever seen. Rothenberg was amazing. So much history. Freiberg was alsobeautiful.
Thanks for bringing back those memories.
You went to Freiberg? Did you notice the Music school-- I think it is called the Institute of Music-- my great-great grandfather taught there!
Debora, your pictures are gorgeous-- and yes, I want to go and see it, too! More pictures, please!
Take care and great article!!!
We will be out tomorrow and making more pictures. Glad you ladies enjoyed these. I have not heard of Freiberg, I'll have to look that one up.
Beautiful town and pictures, Debora! I used to live in Austria and I know what you mean by the wonderful scents of small towns. I had a market nearby I used to walk to filled with the aromas of baked delights and it was delightful!
Thank you for the information regarding Kathe, they finally opened a store in Ramstein Air base also. Trier is one place we have not really figured out yet. We have only gone in one time and just got a bit lost I guess. We are come back to the US this year so we may not be able to make it there but we shall see. I would love to see your pictures from the 80's of Rothenburg to see how it has changed.
Thank you so much, We have gotten to go to Austria and it to is so beautiful.
Thanks, Debora. I enjoyed your photos of where you are living very much!!
