The Land of Awed...
"THE LAND OF AWED..."
Welcome to the "Land of Awed" said she, sitting onna log...her back turned toward the bright. In the "Land of Awed" you see...things are black an white.
No confusion...no remorse...things are all quite clear you see, we're steady on our course.
Do not turn and face the bright...it's only an illusion. Do not turn and glimpse the light, it will only cause confusion.
The movements on the wall are truly what is real...Do not turn your head around, your reason it will steal...
"How do you know that this is so...? You seem to be quite certain. If you don't actually look, how willl you know whas behind the curtain...?"
It's been told by elders old that we are movements on the wall...It's been told and verses read, there is nothing else...waaaaailll...then, yer jus dead.
"So this is it...? We sit and stare at movements on the wall...Some are large, some are small some are stretched and seem quite tall."
"It's all so plain and flat you see...? The edges blurred and depth obscured...this really makes no sense to me."
"I must get up and turn around"...You CAN'T kind sir the alarms will sound. You will be shunned and put to death, your body burned never finding rest.
"If that is so...then so it shall be. Ah'll not be shackled to a shadow of me...Empty and shallow no substance of means, no way to live...a 'reflection' it seems.
Slowly I stood...my image grew on the wall. I've never seen me so long and so tall. The warmth captured my body and back...it spread to my limbs, only my face it did lack...e'er pulling me closer.
Alarms and sirens filled the air, muted screams of fear and despair. I feared not as I began to turn...confident thaa I and my body won't burn.
Turning 'round to face the light...the sun it washed my face so bright. With brilliance so grand my eyes it did blind...warmth and joy filled my body and mind.
I stood resolute ready to burn...this moment of bliss was worth my turn. Then slowly things focused and became quite clear...colors and forms began to appear.
I opened my eyes with cautious delight...a new world of wonder now filled my sight. The wailing and screams soon faded away...the dark "Land of Awed" fell to the light of day.
