Bebe Our Only Pet
Having been used to Great Danes and Shepherds or large dogs, my wife and were given a shepherd colored Chihuahua who the vet says looks like the "Real McCoy" healthy as a horse and he is now spoiled beyond repair.
He is incredibly smart...and his vocabulary grows every day.
Does anyone know anything about their vision? I ask because when he jumps up on the couch, he looks in the lowest panel of the window, and then he switches to the next higher panel. He can see cat 40-50 yards away. When the cat comes into our driveway "Bebe" his name goes nuts!

Bebe is most fearful of small children, those 7 and under.
When he wants something he climbs on us and licks us until we get up and let him out, of if he's sits in front of the "fridge" he wants his wet food. Dumb he is not...
Unfortunately I don't know anything about their vision, but I can tell you that you have a real cutie on your hands.
What a cutie! Boy Charlie, to go from such big dogs to such a little one, must be a bit of a change for you.
BTW, many small dogs don't like children. This isn't uncommon. It's an instinct to that small children will hurt them.. even if they don't mean to. A breeder told me this.
What a darling baby! I just love them so...
Bebe is a cutie, for sure!
My big dog days are long gone. We have at best 75x 75 ft backyard. Our little one is fearless, which would be to his peril. The large canines are usually quite docile. Shepherds are OK if you have a pair.
He rules the roost.
When he sees a cat outside the window he goes bonkers!
The only downside is that we can't travel at will.
Well,we have always had a pet, Perrie, but the last decade we were cat-lovers. We lost several cats to some aggressive big dogs, and after they died we just didn't want to go through losing the little animal loved ones.
Our neighbor that lived behind us, just handed us "Bebe" and said do you want him, when my wife said, "Oooo he's so cute!" We 've had him two years now, and my sister couldn't believe that we had a chihuahua, but we do.
When my daughter, Noel, brings her three girls we have to put "Bebe" in a cage so that they won't get hurt. He tolerates the 13 and 11 year old but Lanette who's 5, gets short shrift from "Bebe."
Thanks Fed up in Missouri.
Before I had cataract surgery, I believe "Bebe" could see better than me.
What a handsome guy! How much does Bebe weigh? He looks very alert.

Aaawwww . . . They are so cute! I have two ShishTzu's, Bindi(female)and Beaumont (male). they too are spoiled rotten!
Great danes have become my favorite. Gentle giants. They truly watch TV. Some she likes others not so much. Remembers commercials with animals in them by sound and/or sight. Even in another room she comes running. No animal is allowed out of the TV.
Polly and Bebe are both adorable! look at those faces
