Recent Images of Birds

Still with a boot restraining my left leg and Achilles tendon, I sit for longer stretches by my family room window waiting for birds to come out of the nearby woods and to my feeders.

Camera and tripod set up and ready ... some days are more productive than others; here are a few recent images.

Beautiful blue jay and cardinal. We don't have them here in the desert as I think they like more moisture or the food isn't right for them. Thanks for the photos.

Big cats are dangerous but a little pussy wouldn't hurt anyone.

Well, you might be stuck in your house, but I see some of your fine feathered friends have decided to check in on you. Maybe they just missed seeing you about?

Anyway, what could be better than a birdie? And these are just lovely. I am sending them to my mother in law.

Why they all standing on the same stick?

'Cause in my town they stand where I tell them to stand.

(I'll photograph my setup and post it; I configure a combination of feeders and fallen limbs and branches from my back yard and the adjacent woods; the birds perch on the limbs waiting to get to the feeders ... when the shot looks good, I shoot a run of consecutive frames and try for one perfect shot in the run. Periodically I put up different limbs. I have a pretty good system but always try to make it better)

But still ... in my town, they stand where I tell them to stand.

But for you, Mike, tomorrow I'll put up a different limb and see how it goes.

Fantastic mac, love the maleCardinal (admittedbias); I am amazed at how much definition you get not only in the birds, but the limbs they are resting on. Great work.

I have been avoiding this article like the plague because of my poor eye sight,..You would not believe just how relieved I was to find the title said birds instead of births,....lol I kept thinking who on earth would post pics of someones birth,...lol

Glad I broke down and washed my glasses with some soap,...I really enjoyed the pics of the birds,....

LR,

Thanks for looking and leaving a reply.

I occasionally come across a bird's nest with unhatched eggs ... but I have yet to photograph them in the process of hatching, so, no bird "birth images." I may have a bird bath image however ...

Checking now ...
