Seeing all of the beautiful offerings of autumns across the country and, being here in Florida, the land of the green, only, I thought that I might resurrect some of the scenes I took so long ago in Ct. I hope that you all enjoy!
Thanks TTGA I'm still thrashing my way in the undergrowth, as you can see! My ignorance, and seeming inability to get the hang of things, is becoming more and more frustrating so right now I just don't know. This is a wonderful place, and you folks have been really good to mebut, as I fall further and further behind, I find myself more and more isolated.
This gave way to some pretty horrendous cold and snow though so ultimately, I guess I am in the right place after all!
Living in Atlanta, we just don't get the amount of leaves as we did in the NE. Our deciduous trees are just as beautiful, but not as plentiful.
Hence, no piles of leaves six feet tall for kids to leap into, unafraid!
Now, the positive, in Atlanta fall weather lasts for almost four months. In the NE, you're lucky if you get a month or so.
I'll take Atlanta. I love jumping in leaves, but at my current age, will take a round of golf on a wonderful, cool autumn day in December any day of the year!
Coming from New England it makes perfect sense to me! I also remember those great piles of leaves soon to be followed by the smell of burning leaves. Unmistakeable odor that lingers for a lifetime. One of the problems with getting older here in Florida, the land of forever green, and golf, is that sooner or later they take even that away from you. Getting old is not for the faint of heart, even here, or I should say, particularly here!
I forget and wonder am I supposed to make a comment here other than these are a good reason why I miss Ct so much?
The comment gets right to the heart of the matter. That's a beautiful place in the fall.
By the way, the reason you put up the first comment on NV was to activate the Friend Tracker. NT doesn't have one.

You gotta relax and enjoy yourself guy. This place isn't a race. You're doing just fine.
I know about that cold and snow. We've been getting highs in the 50's and 60's this week. Within the month, it's likely to be snowing (at least some).
By placing the first comment, the article headline then appears on the FRONT PAGE ... not quite the tracker but still a form of alert.
Ah ha, I didn't know about that part.

Did that make sense?
