These moths are attracted to the lights in the evening and are quite plentiful here in the area. When their wings are open there is a pink coloring along the area where the wing is attached making them quite pretty in flight.
Good capture ... moths, butterflies and other critters in macro are the "intensification" of the otherwise familiar and consequently, commanding of our interest.
LOL, when I grew up on Long Island, we had gypsy moths aplenty. The towns would spray all the trees to kill them. They would also spray for mosquitoes. I wonder if they still do that.
