Fantasy Image ... Layer Upon Layer and then Some

With digital imagery ... that is ... digital photography and image editing software like (but not limited to) Photoshop ... even the limited Photoshop Elements, an artistic effort can create surrealistic "paintings," etc. .

Surrealism in Art ...

a 20th-century avant-garde movement in art and literature that sought to release the creative potential of the unconscious mind, for example by the irrational juxtaposition of images.

Here's one that combines a harvest moon photographed from my front lawn in Philly with a formation from Monument Valley (Arizona/Utah).

There is no end to what can be done!

I did add the stars ... the rock formation was photographed at around mid-day the moon, early evening, so, I added the deep blue sky, the stars and darkened the rocks just enough to keep the detail and color.

Mac,

That is cool. It looks like it came from another planet. Really nice!

One of my fellow co-workers likes to Photoshop me as Dee Snider. That's ok, I like Long Island. Maybe you could have a carer at Pixar.

That's strange. Me too, Steve! ;-)

I know that being from Texas and having roots in the Deep South, I'm not supposed to like places like that. But damn, I just can't help myself. You really need to get up to Maine Perrie. Beautiful country up there.

I'll tell you a story about sitting on the Nadel's back porch one night.

Steve,

That is one tempting offer. I could use a trip to Maine!

I spent a lot of time in the south. My dad was a Grummanite, and he would go and train guys in the airforce of F-14maintenance. Spent a lot of my summers on various southern bases. Nice folks. Can't say though that I have ever been to Texas.

Texas has five distinct regions, so it is like visiting five different states. Some places could almost look like Mac's picture.
