How far can Zuckerberg go ?

Seems that the dictator in charge of Facebook has decided to force the users to add a timeline to their profile . When are they going to rebel and tell him :
"NO MORE ! You are demanding too many personal details about my life . "

Ok that is my take on this . How do the rest of you feel about it ?

I don't know about the rest of you but are you at all disturbed by this new requirement by Facebook ? I know I am ... and I don't even go there .

I don't like it and I don't plan on using it. There is enough about me out there that I don't need anymore.

"In a 2008 interview with The New York Times, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg discussed previous profile changes. Before the first big change in September 2006, users had to search the pages of their friends for information. But then Zuckerberg introduced "News Feed," now an accepted feature. At the time, there was a backlash. People's information on their profiles was now on everyone's home pages -- everything from break-ups to the embarrassing pictures from the party the night before. "

Is Herr Zuckerberg just winging it as he goes or is he purposely trying to expose everyone's dirty laundry ? Surely someone has asked that question before ... And while were on that question , how about Herr Z's profile ? Can anyone look at it or is he not a member of his own Franken Monster creation ?

I don't think you have the option, PErrie. If you don't opt in, it does it automatically.

I'm considering getting out of FB, though I have enjoyed it over the years.

Hell, I can actually call someone if I have to, on a land line! LOL.

Or, heaven forbid, I know this is radical, actually WRITE THEM A LETTER!

LOL, I have to say, that I still say "Write a letter" when I mean an email.

I was one of the first people on FB... right from the start. My English cousins got me to sign up, so that we could keep in touch. All you could do then was poke. Harmless enough. Now it has turned into a monster. It does have good points, but are they beginning to be weighed out by the bad ones? I wonder.

OK ladies . Why is there no activism on the part of the Facebook users against this kind of enforced change ? If enough people are opposed to it shouldn't they protest ... on Facebook ?

So from your POV as a social media mogul [more or less] you think he is just trying to make things more "presentable" to boost the IPO launch ?
