NewsTalkers, Happy Anniversary...
Today is kind of theanniversaryday for NewsTalkers. Although NT opened for business on October 23, today is the day, that it became my sole concern, so I thought that it would be only appropriate to mark this day.
It has been a very interesting ride for me. As many of you know, I started this site with Dana, as proof that you could have a forum that was community run with total transparency. A place where the members really had a say in what was going on and where the "staff"....LOL.. that would be me, always had an open door. I hope that I have met thoseexpectations.
It would be a lie to say that every moment here had been smooth sailing. We had our ups and downs, and a fair share of "growing pains". We also had moments that the group glowed with outstanding articles and as a community. I don't think of NT as being my group, but belonging to the community, and as a community you have been outstanding! The level of articles, and discussions have beensuperb. No one could have asked for better!
There have been many who have helped to make us a success. Some are still here and some have left. I don't want to list names in fear that I would forget a few, you know who you are, and I would like to acknowledge all of you, who stuck by NT through good and bad times. I miss those of you who left, but I have not forgotten the wonderful contributions that you had made to the site.
There is one special person who I would like to acknowledge and that would be A Mac. He has been there for me, as both a friend and as my fill in when I have been away. It is an enormous job running NT and Mac has done a wonderful job of filling my shoes in my absence. Thanks Mac for all you have done. Also, thanks to all my wonderful moderators, Rich, Bruce & Larry, for stepping in when I wasn't around. You have done a wonderful job.
So here we are at the one year mark. I hope that there will be manyanniversariesto come. But no matter what, I wanted you all to know, how proud I am to be a part of this grand experiment and to thank you all for being a part of it. You are NewsTalkers...I only provided the venue.

Yeah, it's really hard to believe how quickly time flies. I know that you have been very busy, but I have to say, that you have been missed. You conversations were always diverse and interesting as were your articles. I am very glad to have had the pleasure of getting to know you better here!
