Amazing Timelapse of 30-Story Building-- Constructed In Only 360 Hours!

Gizmodo Article:

Gizmodo reader Xian Min Zhang just sent me this impressive timelapse video from his company's latest project: a 30-story tall, 183,000-square-foot hotel built in just 360 hours. Just 15 days! I kept watching it in disbelief. It was erected near the Dongting lake, in the Hunan Province, China, by Broad Group, a Chinese construction company specialized in sustainable architecture. Their previous record was a smaller 15-story building constructed in just six days , but this one is much more impressive

From YouTube:

You may ask why in a hurry, and is it safe? The statistics in the video can put you in good faith. Prefabricated modular buildings has many advantages over conventional buildings.

Higher precision in fabrication (+/- 0.2mm).
More coordinated on-site construction management.
Shorter construction time span.
Lower construction waste.
Also many other health and energy features are included in Broad Sustainable Buildings (BSB)

Prefab works to save time and money . It helps to not have to hire welders to work at heights . That's expensive .

i would imagine it saves a lot of money that way

(Unless, of course, they could treat their workers the way they do in Dubai).

It shouldn't count as a world record or anything though. They are obviously cheating, look how fast they moved! I suspect steroids!

That could be a valid point . I guess China is not as bad as Dubai is .

But if you treat the construction workers that badly they are likely to do inferior work . If they ever get high winds in Dubai they may find their high rises falling down ...

I am really surprised that more people haven't anted to comment on this article. If we could get everyone to work faster they would be tired at the end of the day and there would be less mischief and woe in the world.
