When Fog Rolls in ... I Roll Out the Camera and Head for the Woods

My bedroom looks out on 100 foot high Poplar trees and a tract of forest kept protected by the city of Philadelphia; it faces south so I also get to watch the moon move from east to west across the portion of the night shy known as the ecliptic .

The other night, a waxing gibbous moon spread its diffused light through fog and tree silhouettes revealing, among other things, several white-tailed deer and a skunk (that had no reason to spray ... so ... did not). Early this morning, the fog hung around ... literally, which is why ... I didn't.

Into the woods with my camera and tripod I went; fog has a unifying effect on photographic compositions (like snow) and I love to exploit it.

Here's some of this morning's images.

I finished editing all of the shots from the fog series; IMO, the best ones are not posted ... yet.

It's difficult to be objective about my own pics, so, I let others decide which images are the most effective. I'll put up another article later today or tomorrow.
