Was very different - and mellow! Just felt like printing out the lyrics:
Somewhere over the rainbow Way up high There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow Skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star And wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow Blue birds fly Birds fly over the rainbow Why then oh why can't I?
If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow Why oh why can't I?
10 or 15 years ago the Songwriters of America organization voted Over The Rainbow the greatest song of all time. It has been covered by hundreds of artists.
I believe its also considered a "gay anthem".
Listening to Keith Richards do it reminds me of the thousands of people, "nobodies" who record their own versions of famous tunes and post them on You Tube.
Well, at least in the music world, Keith Richards isn't exactly a "nobody", lol!
This doesn't really compare to other versions, Krish, but just to look at the song from a different point of view, music only. I thought I'd post it, if anyone is interested. I love their music--piano & cello--combination in general.
If that's Ok, I'll post another so you all can see how much passion and feeling they have in their music.
The mellow side of a Street Fightin' Man!
Very Cool! Never saw this before.
Cool!
Great, never saw it before krish.

Although I do also like this version very much:
Such a beautiful combination of singing and 'expression-acting' [made that up] the lyrics.
