Notifications
I would like everyone's take on one particular feature (or lack of it) though: notifications. On the old site, I checked all the email options, so I only had to watch the FP to see which seeds interested me, and once I had begun participating, the notifications system advised me via email of anyone else's posts to those discussions.
I figured that one aspect of "following" would be notifications of the activities of the members being followed. In fact, that seemed to me to be the essence of "following"...
So... on arrival at the new site, I checked all the email options and as a result received... almost nothing...
After a couple days like that, I checked all the "Private Notes" options instead of email and as a result... still received nothing...
Are you others getting notifications? Has anyone found a "trick" for getting notifications?

I've done the same as you Bob...I get some notifications on groups I belong to, but not all the time. I never get them on new articles or ones that I've posted on, that are FP.
Even on the some of the notification that I get for groups, it will not have a link to it. When I go to the article, sometimes there is a comment, sometimes not.
It's frustrating, but I'm sure that it will be cleared up soon. I would think that Perrie is overwhelmed at the moment with many different problems in the new site.

I think so, too. That's why I'm "crowdsourcing" this problem. I am never sure, when I can't get a widget to work right, whether the widget is busted or I'm a lousy widget-driver.
If everyone has the same problem, then I'm sure Perrie is already on it, and we'll just have to be patient.
But maybe someone can say, "Oh, yeah! I had that problem, too... and here's how I solved it..."
Bob, I had to turn most of my notifications off, as I was getting all kinds of emails (100+), and quite a few notifications... Keep adjusting-- I hope you find your "sweet spot"!
Without notifications, one must keep an eye glued on the Front Page's "Latest Activity"... which is incompatible with having a life.

When you get to the notifications issue, I'm receiving 3 notifications per action, each... It's just a glitch and I hope it's easy to fix. I don't know how it's going for everyone else... Worry not, I can wait until you get to it!

For a while there, every time I got a like or a dislike I got 3 notifications about it! I had pages and pages of notifications, up to 5 on one comment... But, it seems to be fixed, now!

I'm still a novice where this site is concerned. I've had the worst "common cold" I've ever had in my life, and am just now starting to feel semi-conscious again. So, I'm wayyyy behind where this site is concerned. I just want to say that I have full faith and confidence in Perrie's ability to make this site as near-perfect as a site can be. Perrie: don't panic, don't get backed into any corners, take your time, and get it right. Everyone else: please, be patient. We're all darned lucky to have this site, and Perrie to run it. My impression of it so far is that is is just plain beautiful, and I know it is only going to get better as time goes on.

I am at still constantly making updates to the site. If you need any assistance you can shoot me an email (found under your name called private notes.. might just change that verbiage to Email), or on chat... or here. I will be updating the help videos very soon to reflect changes made here already. I am listening to the members and trying to get it just right.
Hmmm... the "reply" button doesn't seem to open up comment box... so I guess this will have to do. You, Perrie, have the patience of a Saint! Anyway, I'm calling it a night and hitting the sack. This virus is still running my life!
