Native American Heritage Month - Rise of the 7th Generation
November is National Native American Heritage Month. Let us continue to celebrate our beautiful traditions, languages, songs, and way of life everyday.
It is our thoughts, words, songs, stories, teachings, and ceremonies that have given us the strength, spirit, and resilience to survive. We are not a primitive, romanticized, and vanishing race. We are educated, prof...essionals, successful, loving, and compassionate people who will continue to thrive on every level within the larger society. This is who we are and who we will always be as Indigenous people.
Despite the continuous struggles we face socially, environmentally, and politically; we are a people of strength, resilience and hope. Never forget that.
Our ancestors paved the way for us so that we may have the opportunities that they envisioned for us. In their spirit, let us strive to keep our traditions alive and continue the good fight for our younger generation.
When we stand together, we are strong, when we help one another; our communities are healthy and balanced. When we respect each other, we honor all relations and ourselves. It is then, that a clearer and harmonious path is created for the young who follow and to never forget where they are in this creation.
Today and always, we are sacred, we are our ancestors, we are Indigenous and we are here.

We're bouncing back but we need folks to learn and understand our culture and heritage and traditions. Get to know us - as a people - as friends - as partners.

You as well as others have been very helpful in that regard, and I myself have learned an awful lot from the articles and seeds that Indians here on NTer's publish. Kudos 1st, much appreciated.
:~)
Thank you Larry - always great working with you.
I echo Larry's sentiments, although in my case I had a head start from previous acquaintance with Alanis Obomsawin, Norval Morrisseau, Duke Redbird, Cesar Newashish and Shingoose, and my volunteer work with Toronto's NaMeRes. I hope the new Canadian government will move forward with legislation beneficial to Native Americans.
Buzz - I know that the Defence Ministry and the First Nation's people are working very strongly together.
Celebrate your heritage and keep your culture alive.
I am a better person for knowing people here, learning about our countries history from the Indian perspective, and combining my spiritual views with the beliefs of many Indian tribe an cultures And I've just begin the long journey of learning more. Thank you one and all. Gakina Awiiya.
