To Paris, with Love
As I stood stunned
watching the news,
the streets of Paris
under siege,
words failed me--
for how can one understand
the lunacy and savagery of man?
Amid the silence and shock
I still hear your heart beat--
broken with loss
but unflinching in
the face of a deadly enemy,
one without borders
or respect for humanity.
It strikes relentlessly,
devours its victims
each day a new target,
shameless in the name
of a warped ideology.
We stand by you, as we
do by Russia and Lebanon, too
and everywhere
innocent lives
lie mangled in the jaws
of this barbaric beast.

Words seem quite pointless in the face of such atrocities....

Neetu,
Words that express our humanity and when well-stated are not pointless; keep putting your words to good cause.
Thank you, Mac. I suppose you are right.
