That is a very nice photo, I assume. I think deer are beautiful animals, but I am aware of how much damage they can do to your garden.
I've only harmed one deer in my life and that was a close and personal thing to both of us with the deer receiving the raw end of the deal. She stared me straight in the eyes through my windshield. Hope she came out of it without too many injuries as the highway patrolman and I were unable to locate her that night after she ran out in front of my car and vanished into the woods.
"Civilization" destroys much of their habitat then gets pissed off when they come to the back yard looking to eat.
What goes around comes around.
Yes, we have more people and we have more deer, many more deer in this part of the country, far more deer than habitat that has been destroyed simply because they have no natural predator thus allowing them to multiply unchecked. Maybe we need to open a deer abortion clinic.
Beautiful, beautiful animals that drive us crazy in northern Minnesota for the same reason Six mentioned...they end up in front of vehicles and people are hurt, even killed every year because of deer in the road. I still hunt about every other year, though I have not been now for three seasons. And, I honestly don't know when I will go deer hunting next. I have gotten a little softer in my old age and would prefer to watch them now, more than eat them. I used to follow a hunting ritual when deer hunting, that has crazily carried over into watching. After a successful hunt I would always thank the deer and the creator, Now as they wander into the yard, or we see them out on a walk, I thank the deer for sharing it's self and allowing communion. I also think that is my way to try and bribe that deer to stay out from in front of our vehicles lol!

They are two deer to pass up.
Mother and child!
Always beautiful regardless of the species
Thanks for sharing
