In Case You MIST it … I Got it … and Now We all Have it!

The two natural elements that almost guarantee a well-unified photo composition … are snow and FOG.

On any given foggy day, I will find a wooded area and head there with my camera. This past weekend, such a situation existed and off to the woods (in the Pocono Mountains) I went.

Here is the first of a number of shots I will share from that opportunity.

Feel the spirituality of Nature in one of its most gentle configurations.

I am not a religious man, but I can find a Creator and a Cosmic soul in a misty forest.

I'm in luck. Where I am it's always misty (or is that smoggy?)

Such a beautiful place!  GREAT picture!

I guess I'm going to have to take a picture of my print to show you...  I figured it out it was E. P. "Tom" Sawyer, and still I can't find anything online that shows his work...  Maybe he is just a local artist, known around here, but his paintings specialize in the mistiness of morning...

This particular picture reminds me of when we were camping once, at Mammoth Cave National Park.  We had a pop up, and a giant plastic picture window over the dinette.  One Morning, it was misty like this, but a fog had settled near the ground, like in a horror movie, & you couldn't see the ground.  A family of deer, the mother, father, and two fawns, came walking out of the mist, and peered into our camper, like we were in a zoo...  The babies couldn't see in, but they jumped up, once, to try to see in-- just like all kids, everywhere.  We were frozen, we were so fascinated and didn't want to scare them...  It was lovely!  I guess they hung around for about 10 minutes, then something spooked them and they whole family took off!

That was a great trip!  Thanks for the picture!

I bet if it had been colder, there would have been frost flowers in the grass...  That perfectly illustrates how it is to be in a mist.  It's like you have a bowl around you, where you can see clearly, then beyond that point, everything just fades away!

I love the second picture, too!
