Not close on the Marines.
2 U.S. Congresspeople from a single state other than your own
Elijah Cummings and Nancy Pelosi are not from the same state.
I guess your answer of "Midway" could fall into a grey zone, now that I think about it. The Battle of Midway was almost entirely a naval engagement, but there were marine torpedo bomber squadrons involved. So you get three islands correct.
Too much for my brain, today!

OK, this is hard. McCain, and Pelosi. Not sure about spelling, couldn't come up with their first names if my life depended on it.
7 World Religions:
Buddhism, Catholicism, Shinto, Zoroastrianism, Protestant, Judaism, Confucianism, Islam There, that's 7, right? I'm really caught up with the Celtic faiths in my brain right now...
3 standard weights of bowling balls.
I don't know if it is standard, but I bowl with either an 8 pound or a 10 pound. The 12 pound balls are just too heavy!
OK rap song is Mambo #9... One of the few rap songs I like!
"A little bit of Tina's what I need, a little bit of Monica blah blah beed, a little bit of Rita for my ____, a little bit of Marilyn all night long, and then I'm stuck. OK, I'm tapped out.
The name of the song is Mambo #5. Don't believe it qualifies as rap.
You did very well though Dowser.
-
Shirley Maclaine won a best actress oscar for Terms Of Endearment even though hers was basically a supporting performance.
It probably doesn't, which is why I like it!
Tell me, did I get some of the islands right? How about Canadian ;provinces? (Priorities, you know...)
All 4 of your answers about the marines are correct
Yukon is not a province Dowser.
Mc Cain and Pelosi are not from the same state.
You're right, it's a territory. Oh well...
Oh, didn't get that you meant from the same state! Couldn't have answered it, anyway!

Not so sure about the Flyers, but what about the Montreal Canadiens?
You are right Buzz. I didn't look closely enough at Mark's answer. The National Hockey League original six were the Montreal Canadians, The Toronto Maple Leafs, The New York Rangers, The Chicago Blackhawks, The Boston Bruins, and the Detroit Red Wings.
The team's name is "Canadiens" not "Canadians". It's French.
Interesting.
What the puck!!! I'm off to Yellow Knife.
NWT is a Territory but not a Province. NWT = North West Territory
If I could come up with anything off the top of my head, I'd still have hair.
Me too, that's why I dared not even try.
Baseball quiz: What was the name of the Canadian MLB team other than the Blue Jays?
that's too easy Buzz. let's see if a non baseball fan can get it
You're right, it was easy. It's been a lot of years since they were in Montreal so I thought it might take a real baseball fan, and as you can see below, it did.
Montreal Expos … now the WASHINGTON NATIONALS.
Of course you're right. For sure I wasn't going to ask who hit the home run that won the Blue Jays second World Series.
Same rules apply - guess on the top of your head - on your honour no internet or encyclopedia research.

John you got 2, 3 and 6 right.
Maybe you were thinking of a different "great one" , but it was a title given to Jackie Gleason and he was born in Brooklyn
The Great One: The Life and Legend of Jackie Gleason ...
Buy The Great One: The Life and Legend of Jackie Gleason on ... If you're looking for an objective biography of Jackie Gleason , search elsewhere. " The Great One " is ...
Brooklyn , New York, U.S.
Sorry John, I was thinking of Wayne Gretzky - who was also known as "The Great One"; Now that I saw your comment I remembered that Jackie Gleason WAS known as The Great One as well. Therefore you got 9 correct. However, do you know what city Wayne Gretzky was born in?
Somewhere in Canada, lol. I won't cheat. I'll guess Edmonton.
Yes John, somewhere in Canada, but not Edmonton.
Has anyone here ever played the game "Trivial Pursuit"?
I did. I had the game at home. It was invented by some hippies in Ontario who became rich from it.
OMG Buzz... Those are hard ones!
They're all things that I knew without having to look them up, but I admit some are very hard for others. As you can see, John got 3 of them right.
Correction: John got 4 of them right.
A little info about the questions answered correctly.
2 An American woman who had trouble seeing the road on a rainy day invented the windshield wipers, and never earned one cent from it. Can you imagine how much she COULD have earned if royalties were paid to her or to her estate?
3 Ernest Hemingway shot himself in the head with a shotgun, just as his father had done before him. They suffered from depression.
6 Not only was paper invented in China, but so was writing, although the first writing was on flat bones and bamboo strips, not on paper.
Neat, Buzz!
I guess Canadians would have had a better chance to solve these, but in any event it looks like the remaining questions will not be answered, so here they are, with some commentary.
1 Although basketball was invented in the USA, the inventor was a Canadian.
4 The 1951 Hudson. My father bought a 1951 Hudson Hornet, and after I, as a 15-year-old learner, partially demolished it, he bought a 1952 Hudson Hornet.
5 John Ruskin. I might not have known that if I had not majored in English Literature for my B.A.
7 In the "Green Room" while waiting to perform at the Riverboat Coffee House in Toronto. I was there that night.
8 Joni's maiden name was Anderson, and she changed it when she married Chuck Mitchell.
9 Wayne Gretzky "The Great One" (of hockey) was born in Brantford, Ontario, about a half hour drive from where I was born and grew up.
10 Former Canadian Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson. Toronto's airport is named after him.
8 What was Joni Mitchell's surname before she married?
Before she was married her name was actually Mary Mitchell-- but when she got married she changed "Mary" to "Joni".
Ha ha. I said SURNAME, not GIVEN name. When Joni just arrived in Toronto in 1964 from Saskatoon, to see the Mariposa Folk Festival, she came right from the train station to the rooming house I was staying in on Madison Avenue, into the living room where I was sleeping on the couch. I was the first person in Toronto she met. I saw her as a buck-toothed long straight-haired blond girl carrying a guitar case. We stayed up a whole night while she played her songs for me. I had come to Toronto to see the festival with a couple of guys who owned a coffee house in Hamilton called the Black Swan. Their names were Jim Neff and Harry Finley, and I talked them into hiring her for her first gig in Ontario. Joni and I remained friends for many years, and I KNOW her name was never Mary Mitchell.
