As I've discovered, having posted non-election articles, it's a losing cause these days. May as well not waste your time or your talented photos until after the election. Of course, by that time, many NT members tiring of the vitriol and insulting comments will most likely have resigned from NT. Witness the destruction of Perrie's unselfishly devoted hard work.
I hope you're wrong, Buzz, with the exception being that the vitriolic contingent will have lost the election, and, limped off into the sunset … OR … uncharacteristically, decided to be civil.
There is a vitriolic contingent on both sides - so only one of them will lose, and I don't think they will limp off into the sunset, or even become civil, so soon, nor will the winning contingent become civil so soon. That's my prediction, and I think I'm right. The big loser through all of this will be the NT website.
Gorgeous pictures! We're still busy turning brown and falling off...
I hate to say this, but I think Buzz is right. We have a contingent that is hell bent on disrupting the site-- to the point that they are going to destroy it. And they don't care. Their attitudes astound me! I wouldn't blame Perrie if she shut it down for a while... If not forever.
This is, for the most part, not some place I want to be that often. But, I enjoy these fabulous pictures, and Buzz, I enjoyed your baseball article, etc. I have little enthusiasm for posting anything, knowing that even the most innocuous posting will attract vitriol and snark. It's very disheartening!
Very nice pictures AMac. Are all of them taken in Pennsylvania? I'm partial to calm streams in rugged areas and roads less traveled (both metaphorically and literally).
All are Pennsylvania … top two in Montgomery County (SE Pennsylvania), bottom three in the Pocono Mountains (NE, PA) …
Katpen … the Garter Snake in not venomous … although it will bite if you pick it up or put your hand near its mouth.
I like snakes (the biologist in me) but I have a healthy respect for them … I've had my encounters with Timber Rattlesnakes and Copperheads (venomous). The most aggressive biters I encounter regularly are Water Snakes (non-venomous but nasty critters)!
Really great shots Mac. Spring and Fall are my favorite times of the year, mostly because, in Southern Michigan, Summer is way too hot and humid and Winter is frozen solid.
Believe it or not, I have dozens more (from various years) and I will put up another article later today of just autumn shots. I will likely head out this afternoon to get new shots … it rained here recently so hopefully the local streams are higher than last week … where I can include a stream in a photo, the reflections often make the shot more interesting.
E pluribus unum … stay tuned.
A Gold Medal Winner.
Now there are two … more to come.
Ha, I could run out of gold medals before this is over..
Help … I can't stop posting pictures!
Another gold medal....
Kavika, ordering another couple of dozen gold medals.
It may be cheaper to just issue gold stars.
I'll be content with bronze or a coupon for Arby's … or … better yet, for as many visitors as there are posted images.
Just kidding about the coupon, but I'd like the visitors.
LOL, I have coupons for Bass Pro Shops, does that count.
I have coupons for Bass Pro Shops
Can you send a couple of good old boys to look at the pictures?
I would but most have a serious hearing problem.
I would but most have a serious hearing problem.
How's their vision?
blinders totally block their view.
Okay, here's one good old boy, hearing's not perfect and vision not what it used to be but I can still appreciate A.Mac's talent.
Good to see one of the Good Old Boys … and hopin' to see some of the gals.
There are now five!

Yes, I agree snakes can be beautiful creatures, and they are to be respected. But I still say they're all scary, poisonous or not. HA!

Love the other/additional photos, too, AMac! (Except the snake one. They scare me. HA!)
I love the smiling snake...
"Going For The Gold" and it looks like you have arrived!!!

If photos we've taken and posted in previous years are permitted, I do have some fall photos. There is a little gold in this one:
Post what you have from whenever you got it, Buzz!
