We went on vacation, and I took a couple week break from media. Went through northern Minnesota, around and following Lake Superior, across the top of Wisconsin and Michigan following the great lakes all way to Mackinac Island for a few days (Beautiful!). Brought our bicycles along to get close to the colors and feel of this greatest time of year. A few more days in southern Indiana with my folks, and then over to southern Minnesota for a few more days with Arlene's family. Much needed and appreciated.
The Great Lakes are huge boon, a blessing beyond compare. The water and life in, and surrounding this treasure, is both poignant and important; a part of our garden we dare not destroy. How fucked-up is it that we are killing them off with tiny plastic beads?! I mean seriously, is there any excuse for doing so? If I was Obama I would gratefully and humbly acknowledge responsibility for measures to save such.
I live fairly close to Lake Ontario and a little farther away form Lake Erie. Amazing places, though it would've been nice if we didn't use them as our dumping grounds for so many years./...
