I'm underwhelmed.
RESOLVED: I will take my photos, return to painting peaceful scenes, and, restrain myself from arguing with ignorance and stupidity.
Easier said, than done, A. Mac. I'm trying, to make peace, as well. It's very hard to do so, when there are those who only wish to punish the rest of us. I have the feeling I'm being 'reconstructed', and that doesn't bode well for the country as a whole. I don't remember the last time we were 'reconstructed'-- 1860s-70s, but KY has never recovered from the punitive damage done to the state back then...
I am willing to listen, and to compromise, and to be cheerful and optimistic-- but I don't want to be stepped upon, spat upon, or hated, for sincerely held beliefs-- anymore than anyone else does. All I want, really, is fairness for everyone. I'm more of a: Got a better idea? Let's hear it and try it!

Anyway, I'm painting again, planning to do more digital art and photography … stay busy, productive and at a distance from the false-knowledge crowd.
Let us hope that Trump's ego tells him that he wants his place in history to be one of humanism … to be beloved as a POTUS rather than seen in perpetuity as a champion of haters and angry people (many of whom being justifiably so, but many just ugly scapegoaters).

If the republicans wish to maintain their advantage, they're going to have to realize that just because they control the legislature, executive, and will control the judicial branches of government, right now, not everyone is thrilled with their ideas and plans. There is always another election.
It would be to their advantage to listen, at least, and put what is 'best for the country' ahead of bi-partisan bickering.
I, too, am tired. I've done everything I can do to reach out to some of these people, and get nothing in return but more snark. There is no need to that. I'm trying to listen.
A.Mac, I'm sure the neo-Nazis and self-proud racists will not succeed in bringing the USA down - they are surely a minority. I'm very sad to see, however, the recriminations and intention of so many Americans, including a few on NT, who refuse to try to heal the wounds but continue to promote the hatred they criticized up until the election result.
