11-Year-Old With 3 College Degrees: It's No Big Deal

Tanishq Abraham graduated from American River College on Wednesd Tanishq Abraham dreams of one day becoming a Nobel Prize-winning doctor/medical researcher and the president of the United States. That may not be such a stretch for him, since graduating with three degrees from California's American River College at the age of 11 "isn't much of a big thing for me," he tells KCRA . Tanishq attended graduation ceremonies Wednesday with his classmates, most of whom a reporter from the station notes ranged from ages 22 to 65. With his three associate degrees (in general science, language studies, and math and physical science, per NBC Bay Area ), Tanishq was definitely the youngest to graduate from the college this yearand maybe ever. "The assumption is that he's the all-time youngest," a rep for the Sacramento college tells the station.

So it's not a big deal to Tanishq, but what about his parents? They may be proud, but they also seem unsurprised by his achievements. After all, Tanishq joined Mensa when he was 4, was home-schooled because he found regular school tedious, and graduated high school at age 10 after taking the California early-exit high school test, NBC notes. His college GPA? 4.0. "Even in kindergarten he was a few years aheadand then it just went from there," his mom tells KCRA. So now that it's almost summer, how's Tanishq going to kick back before he starts the next phase of his life? He plans on taking a family vacation and maybe squeezing in an eight-week Calculus II course, NBC reports

If it were not for Mozart, and, assuming that American River College does not have much of a standing among accredited universities, I would totally disbelieve this story.
