Doing What's Right Rather than what is Expedient … Good People will Find a Way

The First Night of Passover seems as good a time as any, to talk about the difference between doing what may comply with "the law," and "doing what is ethical and humanistic," even when ethics and law are in conflict.

Under the Nazis … during the time known as "The Holocaust," the "law" in Germany made genocide "legal" and the act of protecting Jews from the gas chambers … "illegal".

Righteous Gentiles and Holocaust Rescuers

Some non-Jews stood up to the Nazis, and helped their Jewish neighbors, despite grave dangers.

Dear Friend AMac: Good points one and all.

Thought provoking.

Glad you posted this.

Human law is a best efforts basis.

It is not clean, pure or always well intended.

Even when it is, it is still far from perfect.

Consider the sources of human law.
