They make a sound loud enough to kill small fish

A newly discovered species of shrimp that uses a bright pink claw to create a sound loud enough to kill small fish has been named for Pink Floyd.
The shrimp found on Panama's Pacific coast has been dubbed Synalpheus pinkfloydi in the peer-reviewed journal Zootaxa. Oxford University Museum of Natural History researcher Sammy De Grave is one of three researchers credited with discovering the creature. He says the description of the shrimp was "the perfect opportunity to finally give a nod to my favorite band."
According to Oxford, pistol or snapping shrimps close their enlarged claws at a rapid speed to create an imploding bubble. The result is a sound so loud it can kill or stun a fish.
Pink Floyd is also honored in nature with a damselfly named after its 1969 album "Ummagumma."
Loud enough to kill small fish? That has to be one loud Shrimp! I wonder if the researcher was think of a particular Pink Floyd song when he named it?
Had to be this one, IMHO:
Maybe this one?
Great choice! It has the elements of sound and the ocean for the shrimp. Bravo!
Thank you Randy, but if you want some screaming this is the one!!!!! Maybe should have named the shrimp "Deep Purple"..... I liked "Brain Damage" as well.
This one has the loud enough sound, though now reference to shrimp or water, but is a classic!

Great song!!!!
Thanks. So was the Deep Purple choice. Always a great band!
Back in the day when I still got wasted a lot this was always a favorite one. Actually I used to image this song sometimes when I was heavily medicated in a Psychic ward. Bizarre what you think of then. Gets you through though.

I know the feeling or lack of I should say. LOL
Pinkfloydi seems like a weird comparison for a loud crustacean. Should have went with samkinisoni.
I wish I could have seen Pink Floyd in their prime. That was at least a decade before I was born.
