A blue-flowered herbaceous plant that is cultivated for its seed (linseed) and for textile fiber made from its stalks. Linum usitatissimum , family Linaceae.
The Flax wildflower that's what it's all about in this article anyway.
No flax from me, the flax is beautiful Btw, is it self seeding? Looking for some wildflowers to grow amongst my shaded forest area along the back and side of property.
The plant grows in my front yard; I removed a cluttered background and replaced it with a quiet one to make the flower's delicate configuration stand out.
Flax jackets anyone?
As usual....BEAUTIFUL Mac! Was this taken near your house?

Blue Flax is a perennial and it will self seed.
Thanks, was just reading about the plant. Looks like it prefers sunny location.
My front yard is in fact, in full sun.
Later today, I may post some pix of some of last year's flowers grown in my front yard.
I'm looking forward to seeing them!!
I am as well.
Beautiful flower and beautiful picture

My pleasure and privilege.
