Is it Wrong to Say I Own an Indian?
So, not what you were likely thinking, but I decided a while ago, it was time to upgrade motorcycles and had just started looking when I came across the most beautiful bike I've ever seen (I don't do crotch rockets, they hurt too much at my age), so, I traded in Old faithful for a new Horse. If you told me 2 weeks ago I'd be buying a Mint Green motorcycle, I would have told you that you are crazy.......and yet here we are....she came home from the dealership Tuesday, a 15 mile journey that I was able to do in 75 miles......
1985 Gold Wing 1200 Interstate, only 87K miles, always owned by a family member until now.
She rides like a dream, nice and low slung, I can flat foot her on both sides. Riding position is excellent and it has a fully adjustable backrest for those long journeys. Loud but not obnoxious. I'm thrilled to ride her-just need our northeast monsoon season to pass......
No Spike you can't own an Indian. They own you..
1949 Indian Chief my bike that was fully restored. I sold it a few years back. The photo is off the net, but is a exact copy of my bike.
Beautiful bike Spike, your now part of the tribe...
My new steed is a Chief Vintage Two Tone. It looks pretty similar to that beauty you restored.....
A work of art on wheels.
Nice looking bike you picked a beauty.
Thanks Dean......I was thinking that it doesn't have a stereo system....but the sound form those pipe is music in it's own rite.
Looks like I have a theme song.......
Yes, it is wrong. Now if you had written "an Indian" that'd be another story.
Grammar Nazi!
LOL.
It's grammar school PTSD--I still have nightmares.
Me too and I am a retired teacher, LOL!
Me too and I am a retired teacher, LOL!
Yikes....you're who's in my nightmare
A biker I knew suggested (back in the late 60s) that I should buy a Ducatti, but it scared the shit out of me.
Ducati's are nice, but they are made for going fast. This is a cruiser, I'm finding the sweet spot on her is about 52 MPH. If I'm not watching the speedo, I'm at 52 in a 55 and holding up traffic.
Wow! What a beautiful bike; congrats Gary!
:~)
Beautiful bike, Gary!
My grandparents courted on an Indian in 1916... They loved it!
I think I once did an article about the revival of the Indian bike. When I have time I'll look for it.
