The purple tone of your fireworks photo is what my old Olympus camera started to cause for all my photos, making it useless for colour photography. Olympus told me the condition was fatal, could not be repaired.

In this photo, the purple tint comes from the diffused firework colors as their light is transmitted through its smoke.
The structure on the palm is a tubular sheath from which the leaves emanate.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. The white spot on top of the leafs of the palm is what I meant, not the bulbous structure from which the branches spout.
It is an altocumulus cloud.
