Mac, do you think that the matting should be a bit darker, perhaps a blue or brown color? It seems to me that having a progressive variation in colors from the black of the frame to a brown or blue to the white of the print would lead the viewer's eye inward toward the bird since the eye naturally focuses toward the lighter section. It also might give the illusion of depth. Can't be sure, of course, but it might be something to experiment with.
When Nona mentioned the frame, I went to my website which allows buyers of my images to select frames, mattes ... many, many colors, styles, combinations ... and create and see the combinations as the buyer makes them ... in real time!
At Nona's suggestion, I went to my website and just took the first combination on the page for the Heron picture ... and posted it.
Maybe later today I will change the matte, frame and/or post a number of combos.
Excellent AMac, as usual. My favorite one is the Blue Heron. Love where they live and spent many hours watching them in ponds, lakes and rivers, doing what they do. Beautiful picture, framed and all. Thank you for sharing.
All amazing photos and in very different ways. Your palm trees are unlike any photo I have seen you take and I love it. A whole new perspective, so to speak.
Your heron is just like a painting, lovely and soft.
Your fisherman is mood evoking.
Love your art. Love to watch you debate.. a reason for bifurcation.
I get lost on that FP …
… and get found when I'm back here.
Then maybe you should spend more time here and less time there.
Very nice photos Mac.
Posted one more for the "Lost and Found" … Moonlight Fisherman in a Kayak.
'Night all.
I had a kayak at my lakeside home, and I would have been concerned about fishing from it because it's very tippy.
Again Mac, these should be framed!!
I am flattered you think so, Nona.
How's this?

TTGA,
You are correct on the matting ...
