Yesterday, I was trout fishing, texting to one of my NT articles … and watching trout start to pick insects off of the water … these, simultaneously.
Through a break in the forest canopy, I spotted another "fisherman" circling above me.
That prompted me to slog from the stream, up its south bank and to my car to get my big zoom lens and replace the smaller lens on the camera that was around my neck (Yes! I am a multi-tasker).
Back at the stream-edge, I looked up in the hope that my "fishing companion" might still be circling, that, at least long enough for me to get his picture!
At 10 frames per second, it's possible to get a number of shots … and the reality … all I needed was one.
I got at least 15 or 20 … still going over the memory card, and, I think the picture now at the top of the article will be the best of the bunch.
Thanks to NWM for his apt Headline … "GONE FISHIN'" … which both the EAGLE and I were doing.
More tomorrow … there may be a few better shots.
If that's an indication of what's to come, we all have something special to look forward to .
