What I see happening in our country, isn't something we can tolerate

An Authoritarian government is something that cannot be tolerated in the United States. Our Constitution guarantees certain rights under the law and, guarantees that we have the right to a government that is equal but, we have a president that wishes to change that, the resent nominees for judges is a good example, he wishes to stack the courts with unqualified people as judges, the same thing happened in Germany right after Hitler took over, (understand, I'm not saying Trump is Hitler, Trumps more stupid than Hitler, however, he does seem to be a Putin puppet), an Authoritarian wishes to control everything that is involved in the government and, in industry, but, we will get to that later, if we have time.

Recently, a news organization has been parroting Trumps dislike of the FBI and, the Mueller investigation, in fact, several far right organizations have been doing just that lately. Trump says something about the FBI, such as, "it is in tatters" and, the next day, FOX News says the same thing and, then compares the Mueller investigation to Watergate. Really? Watergate? It is obvious that the people at FOX either don't know their history or, they are blatantly ignoring history and, obfuscating. FOX and, Right Wing pundits have been doing a good job of marching in lock step with the current administration, this must not continue. Yes, I am for a free press but, when that free press moves from giving facts to telling out right lies about an investigative body, ie, the FBI and, an investigation into a possible corrupt administration it is time to speak up.

When the administration came for the FBI,
I remained silent;
I was not in the FBI.

When they locked up the journalists,
I remained silent;
I was not a journalist.

When they came for the Gays,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Gay.

When they came for the Democrats,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Democrat.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

If we don't speak out now, when do we speak out? Do you see yourself listed there? You should, just remove the name of some group and, enter your name. What Trump and, the Republicans are doing, as far as the Mueller investigation is concerned is exactly what was done during the days of the Nazi's in Germany, undermine the investigation and, the investigative body by saying that none of the people involved in the investigation have the right to express an opinion. FOX News has become, "the state news" in Trumps case and, the Republicans are becoming the witting or, unwitting allies to the defaming of the FBI and, Robert Mueller. Let us remember who appointed the current head of the FBI, that same person sat in the Congressional committee hearing and, stated plainly that Mueller was doing a great job and, there was no reason to fire him, so, Trumps appointee says there is no reason to shut down the investigation. Everything coming out of FOX News about the investigation is propaganda, everything that is coming out of the White House about the investigation is propaganda, everything Congress Republicans are doing concerning the "tattered FBI" is propaganda. Why are they doing it? Why are they dealing in propaganda? It is possible that there is more to the investigation that they, as a whole, don't want coming out, remember, it was Trump himself that said to Mueller, "don't go to far into things" and, he meant it as a threat. Is that threat coming to fruition now? If so, why? What has Mueller tapped into that would make Trump and, the Republicans along with the RW media go on the attack? It is time for us as Americans to speak up and, demand the answers to these questions.

If one doesn't speak up, then one takes a chance on becoming a victim.

The Mueller investigation is starting to break down because it is rotten at its core. More is revealed every day about the corruption and conflict of interest that was rampant there. What Trump or any responsible and unbiased news organization says about what is or has been going on with the FBI leadership and the previous administration is certainly not propaganda, but very close to the truth. But I won't waste my time trying to convince you otherwise since your mind is closed.

The United States is beginning it's recovery from the Obama years!  The economy is really getting going!  The United States is in for a spectacular period of wealth, and the Democrats are doing everything they can to stop it!  They know that with expansion and wealth, their base will erode away..

Trump is the Boss.

Trump has always been the Boss.

Now trump works for us.

Someone should tell him.

They also might point out to him, we have no ONE Boss of America. It's a collective government that we answer to.

What really scares me is the more power one man has, the less the rest of us do.

So the left claims.  Although we haven't seen a single bit of evidence to support such claims.  It also strikes me a bit odd that that claim come from Clinton's mouth so quickly after she lost the election.

Till then he will remain president

But he's never been Presidential. It's a sad time in America watching a wannabe dictator cringe at the constitutional restraints put on him keeping him from just forcing him numb-nut will on the rest of us. He's trying as hard as he can to be a dictator, but thankfully even the Republicans in the congress and Senate are keeping him in somewhat in check. He tried to bend over backwards for Putin and give him everything he wanted after all the help he got in the election, but a super majority in both houses added more sanctions on Russia instead of letting Trump arbitrarily remove them.

Fascism is a marxist ideology which puts power in a centralized government

The Fascists agreed with much of Marx's views on socialism but being Statists, believed that they could instead control capitalism to support a dominant central government that redistributed the wealth which in turn would continue to give them the populist support to rule.

It promotes redistribution of wealth social welfare programs

State endorsed unionism

Crony capitalism where private enterprise is allowed under strict manipulation and control (taxes and regulation) by the State.

An inherent aspect of fascist economies was economic  dirigisme , [4] meaning an economy where the government exerts strong directive influence, and effectively controls production and allocation of resources. In general, apart from the nationalizations of some industries, fascist economies were based on private property and private initiative, but these were contingent upon service to the state.
As an economic system, fascism is  socialism  with a capitalist veneer. The word derives from  fasces,  the Roman symbol of collectivism and power: a tied bundle of rods with a protruding ax. In its day (the 1920s and 1930s), fascism was seen as the happy medium between boom-and-bust-prone liberal capitalism, with its alleged class conflict, wasteful  competition , and profit-oriented egoism, and revolutionary  Marxism , with its violent and socially divisive persecution of the bourgeoisie.
Mussolini wrote: "To Fascism the world is not this material world, as it appears on the surface, where Man is an individual separated from all others and left to himself.... Fascism affirms the State as the true reality of the individual."

In a fascist system, property is privately “owned,” but its use is dictated and controlled by government officials. Consider the mountains of regulations that govern and control virtually every industry, from the financial sector to health care, from food to broadcasting, from land development to manufacturing. Consider the alphabet soup of regulatory agencies: OSHA, EPA, SEC, FAA, FTC, FDA, and more. Virtually no activity escapes the control and regulation of some government agency.

When government officials have such immense powers, individuals and businesses seek to influence the use of that power. They make campaign donations, offer investment opportunities, and provide other perks to politicians. In exchange, Congressmen use their political power to benefit their cronies. What cannot be achieved in a boardroom is achieved in a Congressional hearing room. This is not capitalism.

Modern political financing began during the Progressive Era, when government was in the process of a massive power grab: the Interstate Commerce Act in 1887, the Sherman Anti-Trust Act in 1888, a federal income tax was established by the Sixteenth Amendment in 1913, the Federal Reserve was created in 1913, the Federal Trade Commission Act was enacted in 1914, the Clayton Antitrust Act of 1914 expanded government controls over businesses, and the Federal Farm Loan Act of 1916 expanded government involvement in agriculture. As government seized more control over the economy and the lives of individuals, special interests poured money into influencing government officials. The reason that money dominates the political process is because politicians dominate the nation’s economy. If we wish to eliminate the role of money in politics we must eliminate government from economics.

More evidence for you

THE AMERICAN ROOTS OF FASCISM

The American "Progressives" were the first Fascists of the 20th century

By John Ray (M.A.; Ph.D.)

On May 7, 1933, just two months after the inauguration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the  New York Times   reporter Anne O’Hare McCormick wrote that the atmosphere in Washington was “strangely reminiscent of Rome in the first weeks after the march of the Blackshirts, of Moscow at the beginning of the Five-Year Plan.… America today literally asks for orders.” The Roosevelt administration, she added, “envisages a federation of industry, labor and government after the fashion of the corporative State as it exists in Italy.”

As early as 1912, FDR himself praised the Prussian-German model: “They passed beyond the liberty of the individual to do as he pleased with his own property and found it necessary to check this liberty for the benefit of the freedom of the whole people,” he said in an address to the People’s Forum of Troy, New York.

Roosevelt himself called Mussolini “admirable” and professed that he was “deeply impressed by what he has accomplished.” The admiration was mutual. In a laudatory review of Roosevelt’s 1933 book Looking Forward, Mussolini wrote, “Reminiscent of Fascism is the principle that the state no longer leaves the economy to its own devices.… Without question, the mood accompanying this sea change resembles that of Fascism.” The chief Nazi newspaper,  Volkischer Beobachter , repeatedly praised “Roosevelt’s adoption of National Socialist strains of thought in his economic and social policies” and “the development toward an authoritarian state” based on the “demand that collective good be put before individual self-interest.”

FDR adviser Rexford Guy Tugwell said of Italian fascism: “It’s the cleanest, neatest, most efficiently operating piece of social machinery I’ve ever seen. It makes me envious,” adding that, “I find Italy doing many of the things which seem to me necessary … Mussolini certainly has the same people opposed to him as FDR has.”

NAACP co-founder W. E. B. DuBois viewed the Nazi rise positively, saying that Hitler’s dictatorship had been “absolutely necessary to get the state in order.” In 1937, DuBois stated: “there is today, in some respects, more democracy in Germany than there has been in years past.”

New Republic  editor George Soule, who avidly supported FDR, noted approvingly that the Roosevelt administration was “trying out the economics of fascism.” Now,  New Republic  pages are full of outright defamation accusing Trump of being a fascist.

Which does this sound like? The Republicans or, the Democrats and, remember, we have eight years of evidence on who it sounds like.

Definition of "fascism" [fasc•ism]
(noun) A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
(noun) A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.
(noun) Oppressive, dictatorial control.
Use "fascism" in a sentence
"As always, I use the term fascism in the proper historical context, rather than the militaristic slur of nazism that it tends to get confused with."
"Also, the term fascism is derived from the italian fascio, which means bundle - check out the Fascist flag."
"A little history: Benito Mussolini invented the term fascism in the 1920s and the philosophy it was built on was based in controlling people with fear and repression."

I looked at the rest of your post and, found this interesting.

Consider the alphabet soup of regulatory agencies: OSHA, EPA, SEC, FAA, FTC, FDA, and more.

Each one of these agencies was created to protect Americans from corruption in industry. OSHA protects workers from hazards in the work place. The EPA was signed into law by Nixon to protect the environment, the air that we breathed at the time was so thick with smoke you couldn't even see a city sky line, the water had lead and, mercury in it. The SEC was created to protect us against inside traders, like Martha Stewart and, Bernie Madoff. The FAA was created to prevent the airline and, private planes from creating a hazard to Americans. The FDA was created to prevent us from getting poisoned by our food and, drugs "snakeoil salemen" were everywhere then. The FTC protects consumers from fraud and, other things, The FTC is a bipartisan federal agency with a unique dual mission to protect consumers and promote competition. For one hundred years, our collegial and consensus-driven agency has championed the interests of American consumers. As we begin our second century, the FTC is dedicated to advancing consumer interests while encouraging innovation and competition in our dynamic economy.
The FTC develops policy and research tools through hearings, workshops, and conferences. We collaborate with law enforcement partners across the country and around the world to advance our crucial consumer protection and competition missions. And beyond our borders, we cooperate with international agencies and organizations to protect consumers in the global marketplace.

Sure we can get rid of these agencies and, end up with poisoned food, work place accidents that kill and, no way to take the owner of the business or, the business to court, air that we can't breath, water that is worse than what is in Flint and, another failure of the Stock Exchange like we had back in the '20's. Is that what you want?

when did he try to tell Congress to stop investigating Benghazi?
Easy....He didn't have to....The fix was in to cover it all up. After he, Hilda and Rice lied their asses off for TWO weeks, the feckless Democrats, aided by BO's corrupt intel agencies simply made it go away, as they did for Clintons's emails.

I think if you check, every person in charge of the Benghazi hearings was a Republican, not a Democrat, if there was anything to find they would have found it.

After the hearing, Gowdy was asked what new insights lawmakers gleaned from Clinton’s testimony. “I don’t know if she testified that much differently today than she has previous times she testified,” he said.

This was after hours of testimony. This wasn't the only hearing though, as we know there were seven of them and, they all turned up the same thing and, they were all headed by Republicans.

Clinton, the leading Democratic candidate for president, was secretary of state on the night of the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on a temporary diplomatic facility and a CIA annex in Benghazi. The attack killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens. Investigations into the attacks have been conducted by seven congressional committees and an independent panel appointed by Clinton, as required by law.

Then of course there is this about Trump.

Of course you will need a modern reference.

Soon after he was inaugurated, President Trump asked FBI Director James Comey to pledge his loyalty to him, a request that Comey turned down, CBS News' Pat Milton confirmed Thursday, citing a law enforcement source who was told the story by Comey.

Yep, pretty much.

Mental illness in America

Mental disorders are common in the United States and internationally. An estimated 22.1% of Americans ages 18 and older-about 1 in 5 adults-suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year.

National Socialism (German: Nationalsozialismus), more commonly known as Nazism (/ˈnɑːtsi.ɪzəm, ˈnæt-/),[1] is the ideology and set of practices associated with the 20th-century German Nazi Party in Nazi Germany and of other far-right groups. Usually characterized as a form of fascism that incorporates scientific racism and antisemitism, Nazism's development was influenced by German nationalism (especially Pan-Germanism), the Völkisch movement and the anti-Communist Freikorps paramilitary groups that emerged during the Weimar Republic after Germany's defeat in the First World War.

National Socialism attempted to reconcile conservative, nationalist ideology with a socially radical doctrine. In so doing, it became a profoundly revolutionary movement—albeit a largely negative one. Rejecting rationalism, liberalism, democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and all movements of international cooperation and peace, it stressed instinct, the subordination of the individual to the state, and the necessity of blind and unswerving obedience to leaders appointed from above. It also emphasized the inequality of men and races and the right of the strong to rule the weak;

Gosh, what side of the isle does this sound like?

Tell ya what, missing from the Wikipedia article, Any reference to Mein Kampf, any reference to his actual speeches and any reference to their entire body of political propaganda. (you know those documents telling the people exactly what they were)

Huge reference section completely devoted to people who are analyzing his ideals and rationalizing National Socialism as not a socialist ideology......

Contrary to what Adolph Hitler himself said he was.....

In fact there is no linkage to anything Hitler that is not sifted through the mind of someone else, in other words it is ALL SOMEONE ELSES OPINION.....

No facts needed.

Perfect example of why Wiki should never be used as a reference to FACT.

Your Britannica follows the same format, not a damned thing from the Man who created the ideology.

How they come to the conclusion that it is a right wing ideology has to be something else other than what Hitler preached.

My only question is should I become a member of Britannica to point this out to them......

But of course for the socialist that post this drivel, they have to divorce themselves from their horrid past, and what is the perfect way to do such, turn it around, call them right wing based upon their opinions and ignore the facts and truths directly from the national socialists themselves...

ie they know better than the people that created it......

that needs repeating....

THEY KNOW BETTER THAN THE PEOPLE THAT CREATED IT!

Somebody selling a story, which makes it the biggest lie being told....

Hitler was NOT a Christian

According to Max Domarus , Hitler had fully discarded belief in the Judeo- Christian conception of God by 1937, but continued to use the word "God" in speeches. Historian Laurence Rees concludes that "Hitler's relationship in public to Christianity—indeed his relationship to religion in general—was opportunistic. There is no evidence that Hitler himself, in his personal life, ever expressed any individual belief in the basic tenets of the Christian church".  Anti-Christian views are evidenced in the Goebbels Diaries , the memoirs of Albert Speer , [21] and transcripts of Hitler's private conversations recorded by Martin Bormann in Hitler's Table Talk . Goebbels wrote in 1941 that Hitler "hates Christianity".

Samuel Koehne, a Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Research Institute , working on the official Nazi views on religion, answers the question Was Hitler a Christian? thus: "Emphatically not, if we consider Christianity in its traditional or orthodox form: Jesus as the son of God, dying for the redemption of the sins of all humankind. It is nonsense to state that Hitler (or any of the Nazis) adhered to Christianity of this form."

Hitler had been brought up a Catholic and was impressed by the organization and power of the Church. For Protestant clergy he felt only contempt: 'They are insignificant little people, submissive as dogs...[-] They have neither a religion you can take seriously nor a great position to defend like Rome'. It was the 'great position' of the Church that he respected; towards its teaching he showed only the sharpest hostility. In Hitler's eyes, Christianity was a religion fit only for slaves; he detested its ethics in particular. Its teaching, he declared, was a rebellion against the natural law of selection by struggle and the survival of the fittest.

— Excerpt from Hitler a Study in Tyranny by Alan Bullock

The Führer is deeply religious, though completely anti-Christian. He views Christianity as a symptom of decay. Rightly so. It is a branch of the Jewish race. This can be seen in the similarity of their religious rites. Both (Judaism and Christianity) have no point of contact to the animal element, and thus, in the end they will be destroyed. The Fuhrer is a convinced vegetarian on principle.

—  Goebbels Diaries , 29 December 1939

Hitler's Table Talk is a compilation of Hitler quotes between 1941-1945.  It reveals just how much Hitler despised Christianity

I said that Hitler was a Christian with a SMALL c, meaning a Christian in name only, he was also a far right conservative which should tell you that he didn't follow what Jesus taught, if he did WWII never would have happened and, 10 million civilians wouldn't have been killed by the SS, (conservative numbers). Trump and, 99.9999 percent of Republicans who hold office today are the same type of Christian and, are far-right conservatives, they have one agenda and, it isn't making America great again.

There are very few conservative Republicans, especially in Congress.

Anyone who suggests conservatives control the Republican Party has to be either completely ignorant about conservatism or is dishonest. The social Democrat Republican Establishment still controls the party which is why no conservative legislation gets passed
The Republicans have never passed any legislation repealing the leftist expansions of Govt by Wilson, FDR, LBJ, Nixon, Carter, or Obama.
All those programs and departments remain to this day.

"he was also a far right conservative"

Only someone in denial of history or with a moron IQ would ever suggest Hitler was a far right conservative. Post WWII, liberal historians completely rewrote the previous leftist support for Hitler by the left in the US and Great Britain.

What far right conservative ever pushed a national union for labor?

What far right conservative ever pushed social welfare programs?

What far right conservative ever banned private charities and replaced them with a Federal charity program?

What far right conservative ever pushed for the destruction of Christianity?

  In 1933 Hitler decreed the banning of all private charity organizations in Germany, ordering NSV chairman Erich Hilgenfeldt to “see to the disbanding of all private welfare institutions,” which provided the National Socialists the means to engage in the social engineering of society through the selection of who could receive government benefits. [2]  Hitler had essentially nationalized local municipalities, German federal states and private delivery structures that had provided welfare services to the public. NSV was the second largest Nazi group organization by 1939, second only to the  German Labor Front . [3]

With 17 million Germans receiving assistance under the auspices of National Socialist People’s Welfare (NSV) by 1939, the agency “projected a powerful image of caring and support.” [4]  The National Socialists provided a plethora of social welfare programs under the Nazi concept of  Volksgemeinschaft  which promoted the collectivity of a “people’s community” where citizens would sacrifice themselves for the greater good. The NSV operated “8,000 day-nurseries” by 1939, and funded holiday homes for mothers, distributed additional food for large families, and was involved with a “wide variety of other facilities.” [5]

The Nazi social welfare provisions included old age insurance, rent supplements, unemployment and disability benefits, old-age homes, interest-free loans for married couples, along with healthcare insurance, which was not decreed mandatory until 1941. [6]  One of the NSV branches, the Office of Institutional and Special Welfare, was responsible “for travellers’ aid at railway stations; relief for ex-convicts; ‘support’ for re-migrants from abroad; assistance for the physically disabled, hard-of-hearing, deaf, mute, and blind; relief for the elderly, homeless and alcoholics; and the fight against illicit drugs and epidemics.” [7]  The Office of Youth Relief, which had 30,000 branch offices by 1941, took the job of supervising “social workers, corrective training, mediation assistance,” and dealing with judicial authorities to prevent juvenile delinquency. [8]

One of the NSV's premier activities was  Winter Relief of the German People , which coordinated an annual drive to collect charity for the poor under the slogan: “None shall starve or freeze.” These social welfare programs represented a Hitlerian endeavor to lift the community above the individual while promoting the wellbeing of all bona fide citizens.

This is one of those cases where we are free to suspect that participants in this debate are arguing in bad faith . This has been explained and re-explained so many times...

------------

Capitalism is an economic system: private ownership of means of production and distribution.

Socialism is an economic system: collective ownership of means of production and distribution.

Democracy is a political system: rule by the people .

Autocracy (dictatorship) is a political system: rule by the one person .

These political and economic systems are not tied with one another in any way. They have been mixed and matched in different dosages in various countries:

Capitalist democracy:  USA (for the moment, but headed down a bad path)

Capitalist autocracy: Nazi Germany (the great corporations and the ultra-rich were close allies of the Nazis, and did very well under that regime)

Socialist democracy: Sweden

Socialist autocracy: North Korea

(There is another notion, allocation of resources, whose most common solutions for the last few centuries have been "supply and demand" and "central planning". These, too, have been mixed and matched in every way with any of the above.)

If you want to understand the modern definitions of socialism which is much different than yours, why not refer to the Socialist International?

Socialist International

DECLARATION of PRINCIPLES

Adopted by the XVIII Congress, Stockholm, June 1989

The Nature of Socialism

23. Democratic socialists have arrived at the definition of these values in many different ways. They originate in the labour movement, popular liberation movements, cultural traditions of mutual assistance, and communal solidarity in many parts of the world. They have also gained from the various humanist traditions of the world.

But although there are differences in their cultures and ideologies, all socialists are united in their vision of a peaceful and democratic world society combining freedom, justice and solidarity.

24. The national struggles for democratic socialism in the years to come will show differences in policy and divergences on legislative provisions. These will reflect different histories and the pluralism of varied societies. Socialists do not claim to possess the blueprint for some final and fixed society which cannot be changed, reformed or further developed. In a movement committed to democratic self-determination there will always be room for creativity since each people and every generation must set its own goals.

25. In addition to the principles which guide all democratic socialists, there is a clear consensus among socialists on fundamental values. Despite all diversity, it is common ground that democracy and human rights are not simply political means to socialist ends but the very substance of those ends - a democratic economy and society.

26. Individual freedom and basic rights in society are the preconditions of human dignity for all. These rights cannot replace one another, nor can they be played off against each other. Socialists protect the inalienable right to life and to physical safety, to freedom of belief and free expression of opinion, to freedom of association and to protection from torture and degradation. Socialists are committed to achieve freedom from hunger and want, genuine social security, and the right to work.

  1. Democratic socialism also means cultural democracy. There must be equal rights and opportunities for the different cultures within each society as well as equal access for everyone to the national and global cultural heritage.

59. Democratic socialism today is based on the same values on which it was founded. But they must be formulated critically, both assimilating past experience and looking ahead to the future. For instance, experience has shown that while nationalisation in some circumstances may be necessary, it is not by itself a sovereign remedy for social ills. Likewise, economic growth can often be destructive and divisive, especially where private interests evade their social and ecological responsibility. Neither private nor State ownership by themselves guarantee either economic efficiency or social justice.

60. The democratic socialist movement continues to advocate both socialisation and public property within the framework of a mixed economy. It is clear that the internationalisation of the economy and the global technological revolution make democratic control more important than ever. But social control of the economy is a goal that can be achieved through a wide range of economic means according to time and place, including:

- democratic, participative and decentralised production policies; public supervision of investment; protection of the public and social interest; and socialisation of the costs and benefits of economic change;

- worker participation and joint decision-making at company and workplace level as well as union involvement in the determination of national economic policy;

- self-managed cooperatives of workers and farmers;

- public enterprises, with democratic forms of control and decision-making where this is necessary to enable governments to realise social and economic priorities;

- democratisation of the institutions of the world financial and economic system to allow full participation by all countries;

- international control and monitoring of the activities of transnational corporations, including cross-frontier trade union rights within such corporations.

61. There is no single or fixed model for economic democracy and there is room for bold experimentation in different countries. But the underlying principle is clear - not simply formal, legal control by the State, but substantial involvement by workers themselves and by their communities in economic decision-making. This principle must apply both nationally and internationally.
