Zinke defends 'konnichiwa' comment to Japanese-American lawmaker
Zinke took heat last week after he said “konnichiwa” to a Japanese American congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa, D-Hawaii, who quizzed him over funding for the Japanese American Confinement Sites program.
“Will we see it funded again in 2018?," Rep. Hanabusa, asked Zinke last week.
I would have probably told Ms. Tojo to go to hell instead of saying good morning.. But that's just me..

Seems innocuous .
I doubt he was doing anything but being just normal.. It really was just a plain old joe comment, no big deal, but Democrats had to try and blow it all out of proportion.
Just like if he was speaking with the head of the Navajo nation and going woo woo woo while hitting his mouth, just a plain old joe moment, how absurd. Somehow I believe you do in fact perceive it as normal.
An "Old Joe" moment like this?:

konnichiwa means Good Day.
Their meeting was after lunch, so his comment was absolutely correct - which shows that the Congresswoman doesn't quite understand her own language - but, she knows enough to start screaming STEREOTYPE 'cause someone actually knows her language and offers to be formally courteous????
