You made the creeks appear in vintage mode. It made me think of them as "vintage creeks". But those words sound like the description of wines I have encountered. The primary definition of the word "vintage" has to do with specific years of a grape harvest, but we apply it to things that are old and classic. But you knew all that anyway, didn't you?
However, you know how very much I appreciate and enjoy your artistry, besides the fact that you are intelligent and mature enough to want honest and meaningful appraisal and criticism of your work. In the case of all 5 photos, although they are of a subject I covet, the "vintage" sepia colouring technique, for me, makes them cold and untouchable - does not invoke the emotion that such photos in full colour would normally produce. It removes them from present reality - in my mind makes me think of something from the far past that no longer exists. Perhaps another way of saying it is that it makes the creeks a part of history, rather than of present reality.
in my mind makes me think of something from the far past that no longer exists.
And in reality … tragically … much of it no longer exists … so, if the "vintage" effect makes some realize that many memories of "unspoiled," "unexploited" nature … are just that … memories … perhaps it will arouse them from "nostalgia" to alarm and actions against politicians who vote to deregulate environmental protection laws.
Good night friends … and those who may become friends somewhere "downstream".
7am Saturday morning at Pocono Lake it will be 23 degrees, but feel like 13 degrees, but it will be beautiful.
Yes, it will, Six … and who knows … maybe one day you'll be in my part of the country and I show you that Lake and others first hand.
Great photo Mac.
Thank you, Kavika.
Believe it or not, I'm getting around to more the museum shots I took when I was out your way … once processed, I'll be e-mailing many to you.
Good Morning … second image posted.
Vintage Creeks? (Sounds like the name of a Winery)
???
