Jim Acosta Yelled At Trump While He Was Coloring With Children At White House Easter Egg Roll

During the event, families of reporters, staff and invited guests gather at the White House for a day of Easter activities. For the official egg roll event, the president blows a whistle and children use wooden spoons to roll Easter eggs across the lawn. Some of President Trump’s grandchildren participated this year. After the egg roll, President Trump joined First Lady Melania and his son Barron at a coloring table with approximately a dozen other children.

While Trump sat at the table, CNN’s White House correspondent Jim Acosta began yelling at him.

“What about the DACA kids?” he shouted at POUTS. “Should they worry about what’s going to happen to them?”

Trump responded, saying “The Democrats have clearly let them down.” Then Trump turned back to coloring at the table with his son, wife and other young children.

Acosta persisted, repeating “Didn’t you kill DACA? Didn’t you kill DACA?” at the president’s back.

There's nothing wrong with a reporter asking questions, Tessy, but there's a time and place for doing so. Journalism 101.

Why is Trump blaming the Dems for a program he ended?    Do all conservatives refuse to take personal responsibility for their own actions?

It's an election year and, his party isn't doing well in areas he did well in so, he has to blame someone for something. Plus, he needs to distract from the Mueller probe, since he is being investigated, according to the latest reports.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it designed to expire because it was an EO? Isn't it a congressional issue? Congress does the laws, how is this Trumps problem? He told Congress to deal with it and they haven't. I'm sorry, I understand how government works, but I'm not understanding how this is Trumps problem when Congress should be dealing with it and they aren't.

Can't blame a reporter for Trump's answer.  He chose to answer (and its not the first time he's been inappropriate around kids like this).  He could have answered a million ways, he chose his usual.  I don't think its fair to absolve him from responsibility, it could have EASILY been handled by, well, probably anybody else.

CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta was slammed on Monday for shouting questions at President Trump while he was coloring with young children at the White House Easter Egg Roll.

“Didn’t you kill DACA, sir? Didn’t you kill DACA?” Acosta aggressively asked.

Psychotherapist and  author Jonathan Alpert  told Fox News that journalism ethics “seem to be a thing of the past” in the modern era of 24/7 news coverage, but he said “one would expect a certain level of respect and sensitivity at an event where kids” are in attendance.

“The word ‘kill’ might be seen as rather harsh and inflammatory in the young minds of the attendees,” Alpert said. “As for CNN's Jim Acosta, there's a time and place for everything and maybe the family-oriented Easter Egg Roll wasn't quite the right place.”

Was Acosta wrong when he said that Trump killed DACA? It seems to me that a bi-partisan team went to Trump earlier with an offer to not only save DACA but, build his wall and, he turned them down, not only that but, it was Trump himself that ended DACA last year.

One more thing, FOX  News will melt your brain.

DACA was never legal...Obama said himself that it wasn't. Trump was trying to save some of it and even offered 1 million more than what the Dems wanted, in exchange for the wall, which was already started under Clinton. Why is it such a big deal now? Because Trump wants it? It was all fine and dandy when Clinton started building it, now it's an issue....This partisan BS tit for tat has got to end.

Acosta is an asshole, you and I both know it. Congress(doesn't matter who) let the DACA run out, it was 3/5/18, correct? As far as I know, Trump kept telling Congress to do their job. I honestly don't understand how this is the Presidents fault.... Congress knew it was going to run out because it was an executive order(under Obama) and not constitutional. As far as I know, nothing has been presented to the President to be signed, so isn't that a Congressional issue? and not a Presidential issue? But everyone wants to blame the president

What isn't understood here is that when Durbin and, Graham went to Trump on that Tuesday according Durbin and, Graham, Trump agreed to sign, the bill, then on that Thursday he said he wouldn't sign it and, made the shithole nations remark. That is when I started along with a few others started asking, "Is this Tuesday Trump or, Thursday Trump".

Reference my reply above about Trump running away from reporters without answering any questions, Obama never did that, he answered questions, most of the time truthfully, Trump, not so much, Trumps record of lies stands pretty firm, over 2000 in his first year as POTUS. If Acosta had caught him the next day and, tried to ask the question, Trump would have run from it, if he had asked Sanders that question, she would have referred him to one of Trumps lawyers or, to Congress for the answer.

Here's my "notes", read them for yourself, they tell the story very well.

I believe that this is the thing were he blames the Democrats for what he did.

The Democrats offered Trump 25 billion dollars to build the wall, if Trump had taken the deal and, signed the bill after Congress passed it and, it would have passed in both houses because, it was a bi-partisan bill. Trump however, only got 1.6 billion for his wall in this recent bill, it doesn't seem to me like he is a very good negotiator, if he was, he would have agreed with the Durbin-Graham bill and, signed it, both sides would have looked good. Now Trump is playing propaganda with DACA.

The Democrats AND the Republicans have offered several bi-partisan plans on immigration that would have passed except for his threat to veto, but the plain and simple plan is the Trump does not want the DACA and immigration or any immigration issue solved because it's too good of an election issue. He thinks he can twist it into a lie and blame the Democrats, but anyone who knows about DACA knows he is the one who has screwed the whole issue up. Sure his brainwashed follower will believe him, but the independents are seeing through his lies on this issue and deserting him in droves. He has thrown away the Hispanic vote, not that he wants anyone but the White vote anyone. He doesn't even bother to try to hide his racism any longer.

They have to wait to be between Mar a Largo visits so that whittles down the week to almost nothing.

Explorerdog -- Please stop  posting things that aren't true. In addition to formal press conferences, Trump has made many impromptu stops to answer press questions on his way to board AF-1 and Marine-1. One left-wing article of many ...

Jonathan Karl, the ABC White House reporter, had a surprising comment after Monday’s impromptu press conference by President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell: “I have probably had more opportunities to ask questions of President Trump over the past two weeks than I had of President Obama during the last two years of his presidency.”

It was the latest example of Trump shunning the traditional, formal press conference normally associated with the presidency in favor of more freewheeling, impromptu exchanges. Though reporters say they appreciate the opportunity to ask questions, the scene created by press conferences like today’s may provide the exact type of image that could help the president in his ongoing battle against the press.

“It maximizes his advantage. Less time to prepare, the press is a little caught off guard,” said one White House reporter. It’s not that reporters have a hard time coming up with questions on the fly, he said, but the scenes of reporters jostling with each other for space and shouting questions over each other—like they were today—creates “a visual that works for him.”

On the other hand, the reporter agreed with Karl that Trump takes questions from reporters more often than Obama.
