Andrew Cuomo claims he's 'undocumented,' challenges officials to deport him

Source

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a New York City native, raised eyebrows last week after he claimed that he was an illegal immigrant and taunted officials to deport him.

“I’m undocumented. You want to deport an undocumented person, start with me because I’m an undocumented person,” Cuomo, 60, said during  a bill signing .

During the bizarre speech, the New York governor criticized the "extreme conservative movement" for being "anti-immigrant." He said his family, who emigrated to the U.S. from Italy, was constantly ridiculed with a racial slur that he said meant “without papers.”

“I’m an Italian-American. I came from poor Italian-Americans who came here. You know what they called Italian-Americans back in the day? They called them wops,” Cuomo said, referring to the pejorative slur for Italians. “You know what wop stood for? Without papers.”

According to the   Online Etymology dictionary , the slur originated from southern Italian dialect “guappo,” which means “dandy, dude, stud.” The dictionary said it’s not an acronym.

A day earlier,   Cuomo addressed   a group of union workers and said he was “raised by poor immigrants [*] from South Jamaica,” a neighborhood in Queens, New York. His father Mario, a three-term governor of New York, was   born in Queens   to Italian immigrant parents. His mother, Matilda, was   also born in Queens .

*  Andrew's father, Mario, was already a licensed lawyer when Andrew was born in 1958 and was a well-known lawyer in the NY Metro area in the 1960s when Andrew was a child. Andrew's mother, Matilda, was college-educated. Andrew was 17 when Mario became NY Secretary of State.  See Wikipedia.

“To Dreamer and immigrants like me, these fabrications are offensive,” Make the Road Action member Antonio Alarcon   said in a statement , adding that the governor “has no idea what it’s like to live as an undocumented person.”

“For those of us who came to this country with our parents to find a better life, and have struggled daily to get by and faced the threat of being torn from our family, it’s unbelievable that the governor would try to claim to have shared our experience,” he said.

Cuomo received condemnation for his false comments on social media, as well, including from Dictionary.com which tweeted the definition of the word "undocumented" along with the hashtag #Cuomo.

Cuomo is facing a primary opponent this year in  Cynthia Nixon , an actress and activist.

Yeah, he lies.  We in New York, know this.  He has some kind of hopes to be president someday to carry on what his dad couldn't.  He was born in the United States to American Citizens, so that makes him a jackwad, not an illegal-based on his comments.  If he runs for president, while bad for the nation, but at least that moron would not be continuing to screw over New Yorkers (exclusively anyway).....Wonder what would happen in the Moreland Commission was stood back up?  They had turned their sights on the Governor and staff when he disbanded them suddenly.....all because the witch hunt was going in the direction he wanted anymore.

BTW, he did an 'Executive Order' the other day allowing parolees the right to vote.   This was an 'end around' the NYS Assembly and Senate.  And a blatant sop to the left.  If you are having problems getting votes, make a new class of voters.......WTF?

Hate to pee on your party but Andrew Cuomo's name is pretty much shit in the Democratic party.  He's taking all sorts of shit for these comments from his own party and  Cynthia Nixon is going to kick his ass.

Stunning article. Between stupidly calling himself an illegal immigrant, wanting to give 35,000 felons on parole the right to vote, and destroying the restaurant industry in NYC, maybe Cuomo is trying to lose re-election on purpose?

Well, his election base are the sheeple in NYC who wear their rose colored glasses-and always vote left.  As oposed to the rest of New York State (he actually wins in urban settings where there are lots of benefit receipients), but outside those places?  Not so much.  I can see why Heartland America is frustrated in Northern California-the people in the cesspools want to drag the rest of us in with them.

BTW, not sure it's the restaurant industry in NYC alone-he's the governor of New York State.......
