"You're making a veteran suffer": Veteran's wife addresses Trump as she heads back to Mexico

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Juarez was ordered to deport to Mexico under President Trump's "zero tolerance" immigration policy.

On Friday, she spoke directly to the president in Spanish. "He thinks he's punishing me, and maybe I deserve it for having come the way I did," she said. "You're not making me suffer more, you're making a veteran suffer, and you always say you love veterans.

" Juarez has been in the country for two decades. She married Marine veteran Sgt. Temo Juarez, a naturalized American citizen who served two years in combat in Iraq. Their daughters were born in the U.S.

"My mom is a good person and she's not a criminal so f*** ICE," one of her daughters said.

Her undocumented status was exposed five years ago during a routine traffic stop. She was ordered to check in with ICE agents twice a year since she was considered a low priority case.

Her husband, who voted for Mr. Trump, said he didn't think that vote would affect his family.

They've spent $20,000 on legal bills fighting to stay together. Rep. Darren Soto said that fight is not over.

"What justice does this serve," he said. "We couldn't even get the Trump administration to work on this particular case with a military spouse who has done everything helping her husband's service to this country.

CBS News reached out to ICE but did not hear back as of Friday evening.

The family's plan is to split up, with the younger daughter joining their mother in Mexico and the older daughter staying with their father, who has said in reports that he doesn't blame President Trump for his wife's departure.

I read this story today and laughed my butt off.  So......the wife of a veteran is being deported.

Of course the husband (who voted for Trump) doesn't have any ill feelings towards Trump and the policy.

Well Duh! - he get's to kick his wife of 20 years to the curb under the guise of an immigration policy.  hahahahahahaha

Wonder why he wasted so much money then ?

From the article: They've spent $20,000 on legal bills fighting to stay together. Rep. Darren Soto said

If this guy really wanted his wife gone, Why the hell would he have deleted his resources trying to keep her here ? Even for appearances.

"Sorry baby, it's just the rules... so long, good luck , and dont let the door hit ya on the way out."

............................................

As far as not blaming trump... well he'd have to blame himself first for his vote.

Well $20k may have been donated by good doers.

Yes he has no one to blame for his vote.  It’s called voting against ones own interests. There seems to be many foolish and ignorant trump supporters.  They aren’t the brightest our country has to offer.

Don't be too upset.  The husband got rid of the wife and can blame it on someone else.  He should have at least pretended he was upset.

No, not at all.  Let's look at the facts:

  • Wife is illegal immigrant
  • Husband votes for Trump (who has publicly pronounced his anti immigrant desires)
  • Wife get's deported and takes one of the children
  • Husband isn't unhappy about the policy or his wife being deported (and he only has to keep one kid reducing his child support in half)

Seems pretty clear that the husband is looking at this situation as one big fat win.

Why do you ask these questions.  Of course they don't have a problem with the white ones.  hahahaha

Trump's first wife bragged about marrying a Canadian in name only so she could get to the US.  Then she came to the US and worked illegally as a ski instructor, married Trump and had her anchor babies - the mini Trumps.  It's all in her book she published a couple years back.

a "gaggle" of Trump followers don't seem to have a problem with the white illegal immigrants.

when you wish to discuss securing the border so people do not have problems like the person in this article?  let me know.

seriously... should we post a sign every 50ft that says entry this way w/a big arrow to the LEGAL entry point?

I bet if we billed Mexico for every person they let cross illegally it would all stop on a dime.

However Melaria is responsible for the "chain migration" which her husband and other xenophobes condemn since it was status which allowed her parents to move to the US.

I wonder why Trump doesn't send them back, or is it OK when the immigrants are white?

so... illegal immigrants face two problems

the trip here is dangerous and then after possibly years...  their lives can be uprooted again.

learning there are legal consequences for ones actions can be very painful. but it is a lesson they must learn.

following the law is how we have a society. anything less? is less than society and that is not good enough.

however I think not securing the border is the biggest crime.

to not secure the border?

is the same as hanging a back of crack in front of an addict and then busting them when they reach for it.

do we not call that entrapment?

.I think we do... just sayin.

on TV they would call it Bait-Country

the borders look open, haha.  but are they really?    find out in our next episode of Bait-Country, coming soon on fox.

do they leave the borders open just to arrest illegals?  think about it for a while.

more questions for the true philosophers in the room

if we had to send our kids to Canada to work, knowing they would be breaking the law and could be jailed, so they could send the money back to us? so "we" could afford to live??  do ya pimp out your kid much?

  • would we be "proud of our country?  hell no.
  • what would we do about it?   flip our government over like a pancake.

so, why do we not just help them fix or flip their corrupt governments? and better the lives of millions of people?

we go to war for oil, we are still in afghanistan for lithium.... anyone seen syria lately? we un-built that.

and yet, just helping people for peoples sake? is not worth a war or two.

what is the point of such power if one does not use it often to better the lives of others?

I reckon this is a very strange world we live in    Face Palm

It's always so edifying to read the comments of those so dedicated to holding one group of disadvantaged people to the strict consequences of their actions while doing everything they possibly can to not just prevent a powerful one from facing his consequences but actually backing his efforts to subvert the cause of justice.

This, of course, is another example of Scumbag's ICE picking the easy, safe targets.  Scumbag frequently tries to tout how ICE goes after the really bad hombres, like MS-13.  Nothing could be further from the truth. Scumbag's ICE goes after the women and children, even a woman in hospital in the middle of getting chemotherapy.  They're about as likely to go after really dangerous targets as I am to becoming the King of France.

Reagan tried to give the illegal immigrants a break.  He made them legal with the promise from the politicians to end illegal immigration.  The only problem was he did it just before the Democrats took over both Houses toward the end of Presidency.  I'm not blaming it entirely on the Democrats, but the promise ended the day it was made and no President or member of Congress has done anything about it that would be beneficial for this country or others who broke the law by entering this country illegally since that date.

During Obama's time in Office until September 21, 2015 the U.S. deported more than half a million parents.  This scenario has happened many times, not just during the last 20 months.  Surprise, there has been no outrage that I know of before Trump was elected even though from January 2009 until September 2015 similar situations with children born in this country lost their parents due to no other President attacking the problem and looking for solutions to solve it.

Think of it this way.  If you have a problem, you have to be brave enough to deal with it and face the consequences.  If you never attempt to nip it in the bud, so others won't face the same fate in the future, then it is you who have failed, not the person who suffers the criticism for trying to end the entire problem the only way it can be ended.

Now, the law changed long before Trump became President where you couldn't keep children away from their parents or in the cages like the ones you saw by mistake when this topic became national news.  The photos were children held in cages during Obama's Presidency, but the people were led to believe these were the children Trump had caged.  Stock photos do that sometimes.

It may take months or even years to authorize an illegal immigrant legal status in the United States.  If they have brought children with them the only way to accomplish this is to separate them or get them to agree to come back for a court date and then releasing them into this country, usually never to be seen until years later and voila things like the incident in this article becomes a reality for some poor soul and his or her family.

So, shouldn't we only allow people who have, let us say, passed the test to become legal in this country come on in or should we have them sign a promissory note, release them and let them live with the reality that one day in the future they may experience the same thing this lady and her family has experienced?
