Habitat for Humanity holds the record at under four hours. (1500 sqft 3 bd 2 ba)
BUT,
The foundation was pre-poured, the walls were pre-assembled as was the roof, everything was lifted into place with cranes. Minor wiring and plumbing connections to be made and fixtures to be installed.
It is called modular construction.
The fastest I believe for a completely on site, stick built house, on a pre-poured foundation was done by the masterbuilders association, just under 23 hours. (1600sqft 3bd 2 ba)
They do it every year as I understand it. They have a team of master builders, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc., that are invited from all over the country to participate.
Wow.
Remind me not to go into it...
Not that you'll have to, but that's one place I don't want to be in a storm, or an earthquake, etc.
I dunno... The glimpses we got of the steel skeleton being assembled looked pretty serious.
Did you watch the video?
Exactly.
The title says "builds". That is true. You don't count the time needed to run and to fire your cement blocks, either.
The whole point of the video was the process improvement, through prefab.

Now that, is REALLY amazing.
