'Old Lady' the St. Bernard finds home after incredible rescue

PRINCETON, Minnesota — Things are looking up for a St. Bernard that survived 17 days out in the frigid cold.
Ruff Start Rescue shared a video of the dog , affectionately named Old Lady, walking around the shelter and sniffing everything in sight.
The 10-year-old St. Bernard was rescued from a puppy mill and shortly afterward ran away from a foster home after getting spooked by the snow. After a lot of searching, she was finally found 17 days later with her leash tangled in some trees in Zimmerman, Minnesota.
Old Lady weighs in at just 88 pounds right now, but the medical director is checking in on her. And just as importantly - she's found a forever home. Her new owner will "foster to adopt" until she's healthy.

Nice to see animals persevere and succeed. More often stories in the news are about animals being mistreated.
What a heartwarming story. I am so glad that it had a happy ending. Poor thing looks like she has been through the mill.
What "motivation" does a lonely animal have to survive? It has no family, no friends, no aspirations or intentions, nothing to look forward to, just the will to continue to exist. That is the life force present in all living things.
