The true populist leader claims to represent the unified "will of the people". He stands in opposition to an enemy, often embodied by the current system - aiming to "drain the swamp" or tackle the "liberal elite".
Trump's enemy is anyone that disagrees with him, anyone.
Trump filled the swamp with lobbyists and special interest groups.
Can you name 1 liberal more "elite" than Trump? The guy that thinks you need to show ID to buy groceries and who owns a gold toilet?
I no longer wonder what it takes to gain any comments for a movie article when an easy movie quiz gains only one - I used the magic word that's a magnet for most of the members of this site.
I admit I am one of those idiot movie people, yet you mentioned some movies here which I have really enjoyed.
One of the things we (Julia and I) can do together when we are 7 time zones apart is watch movies (December, January, February can't come soon enough). Yes we fix buttered popcorn too.
Recently I mentioned a long time favourite of mine. The Gods Must Be Crazy.
She is a quick learner and takes pride in being a "modern girl", yet I was concerned how she would pick this movie up.
OMG, I don't think I have ever heard her laugh so hard.
Anyhow, about the original question, nahhh, don't want to watch a movie with them.
The Gods Must be Crazy - it has been so many years since I saw the effect of a pop (soda) bottle falling from the sky - thanks for the reminder. If NWM were still active I would have asked him to post that movie.
Dave, this article was posted just to see if more than a few members had any interest in movies, and to do so, to fit the current culture, I used the word "Trump" because I knew that there are so many members that are obsessed with that word, both positive and negative, that the article would attract a lot of attention. On this site, it's the "magic word".
Actually, other than myself, the article attracted only eight other members, and 18 comments - at least better than the quiz, even though it was about popular movies, multiple choice to make it easy - only 3 members even tried.
Buzz, I saw it and just failed to get to it. The last few weeks have just been bastards on proposals, which you just gotta get or everyone is out of work.
I was even thinking I could score a point or two on it.
I'll keep looking and do my best to join in.
You know, I found The Gods Must Be Crazy on an ru domain...of course, Julia couldn't access it because of the Ukraine/Russia nonsense. Her being in a Russian speaking region just makes scrutiny even worse.
Let me see if I can find that ru link to the movie. Maybe you will have access.
American History X has a scene in it that might have given the mob in Philadelphia the idea of destroying a supermarket owned by others. As I have said many times, "Life imitates Art".
A topical movie article.
Unfortunately, you don't have the two movies that most relate to Trump on that list - "Meet John Doe" and "Mr Deeds goes to Town".
Therefore I'm left with "The old Man and the Sea" for the determination against adversity, which would represent Donald Trump.
I guess "Clueless" would represent the "gaff machine" Joe Biden.
I forgot to add "Mr Smith goes to Washington" - another Trumpian film!
Jefferson Smith was a naive idealist. That is 180 from Trump who is a corrupt cynic.
Comments like yours are why people take a dim view of Trump supporters.
He was a populist as is our successful President

I would have to say Lawrence of Arabia for Trump.
Both Trump and T.E Lawrence were narcissists.
I dont see a match for Biden there but let's go with Grumpy Old Men.
Clueless is definitely a turd 'president' movie.
Idiocracy
Dumb and Dumber
Dumb and Dumberer
For Biden
Rambo
Die Hard
Kindergarten Cop
For Trump it has to be Caligula and Dr Strangelove (except he protects Russia today).
Or, The Manchurian Candidate except Trump was/is The Kremlin's Candidate...

As Laura Ingraham likes to say "The hate is palpable"
"The hate is palpable"
True. Many people "hate" lying, bigoted, crooked, con man, morons. !
A lot of hate spewing from that nasty bitch.
Hopefully not too far off topic.

Can you access this?
Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at ok.ru.
Odd, because I use firefox. ?
How did NWM queue up vids?
ru must be blocked here then.
Don't know.
That seems very odd, seeing as how China and Russia are fairly big trading partners...or did I sleep through some current event that changed that?
Maybe it's just that particular article.
What a surprise to see this article reborn.
I'm adding my own character/person to the list. I select Commodus.
Trump: American History X, ( I bet he thinks it's a love story).
American History X has a scene in it that might have given the mob in Philadelphia the idea of destroying a supermarket owned by others. As I have said many times, "Life imitates Art".
I would rather stay home, sit in the car in the garage and turn it on than go to any movie with any politician.
