Auschwitz Christmas ornaments on sale now on Amazon
The Auschwitz ornaments include the iconic image of train tracks leading to the entrance of Auschwitz, and an image of reconstructed barracks with a path down the middle.
Christmas ornaments and bottle openers featuring the site of the former Auschwitz Nazi death camp are for sale on Amazon.
The Auschwitz Memorial and Museum called Amazon out in a tweet on Sunday which said “Selling 'Christmas ornaments' with images of Auschwitz does not seem appropriate. Auschwitz on a bottle opener is rather disturbing and disrespectful. We ask @amazon to remove the items of those suppliers.”

Among the other Polish landmarks featured on the porcelain Chirstimas ornametns are Wawel Castle in Krakow, Centennial Hall in Wroclaw and the riverfront of the city of Gdansk. The company also sells Christmas ornaments featuring landmarks from other countries, including the United States. US ornaments include a view of the city from the Chicago River, the Grand Canyon in Arizona and Zion National Park in Utah.
Such good taste, Amazon. What's going to be your "specials" for the next few years. How about coffee cups with this image?
And maybe school notebooks with this on the cover?
Commemorative dishes with this motif?
AMAZON, are you fucking SICK?
Is there anyone you even KNOW who would buy ANY object with a picture of Auschwitz on it (except of course if inside a history book or encyclopedia) let alone a Christmas tree decoration?
This is way beyond bizarre, it's totally sick IMO.
This is very strange
I can't open that picture for some reason, can't even copy the url.
See if this works, Buzz:
Thanks Sandy, that worked.
Disgusting
Begofe getting too upset remember there is a souvenir/ gift shops at The Holocaust Museum and at Dealey Plaza in Dallas...
Never underestimate people's capacity for bad taste. They want souvenirs from all the places they visit. There are, of course, gift shops at Auschwitz and Burkenhausen. These kinds of tasteless products are sold to visitors there all the time...
Although I didn't see anything distasteful in the gifts in the museum store, I couldn't open the second link. I toured Yad Vashem and don't recall that there was a gift store. If there are gift stores in any of the Holocaust museums in the USA, do they sell toy boxcars, or perfume 'Eu de Cyclone Gas' or lampshades made of human skin?
LOL. China obviously doesn't like the NY Times, and neither do I.
Disgusting, strange and not in the Christmas spirit
Amazon is clearly not vetting their merchants and their products. They gotta step up.
Seeing is believing. Talk about bad taste... this brings it to a whole new level.
Disgusting.
Amazon pulls Christmas ornaments showing Auschwitz concentration camp
Good news, but why did they put them out on the market in the first place?
