Kirk Douglas had a stroke 23 years ago and has been unable to speak clearly since.

It is amazing he is still alive at 103.

He also survived a mid air collision between the helicopter he was riding in and a small plane in 1991.

Happy Birthday Kirk Douglas !

I loved the man's movies except for one in particular. That was the Sci Fi bomb 1980 film he did with Farrah Fawcett. That was one horrible film. Even Douglas is reputed to have said he was sorry he ever did that film.

Kirk Douglas was one of those actors who was able to steal every scene. He was bigger than life and he was involved with some movies that I believe will always be popular.

Paths of Glory and Spartacus were true works of art.

One of my personal favorites will always be  detective story . He was great in that. A NYC Police Detective of high standards & virtue who turns his back on his wife after learning of a secret in her past.

One of Hollywood's icons - may he live to the proverbial 120 years (in good health and comfort).
