The Mysteries of Time
As 2019 slides into 2020, we pause for a moment to ponder this mysterious thing called time. You can’t hold it in your hand. You can’t stop it, slow it down, speed it up, or run it in reverse. You can’t see it any more than you can see the wind. But you can see its effects.

Besides music, much has been written about time in science fiction, for example, H. G. Wells "The Time Machine" published in 1895.
More recent ventures in SF movies are good examples - time travel was depicted in the popular "Back to the Future" movies, the Star Trek episode "The Voyage Home" and one I watched too long ago "Interstellar" starring Mathew McConaughy.
As well, Jules Verne's "Around the World in 80 Days" was first published in French in 1872 - it used an interesting twist about time - in crossing the date line. At least two movies were adapted from it, and although there is a more recent remake, I preferred the David Niven film.
Too bad that time travel hasn't been discovered yet, because I'd like to be beamed back to the late 1940s.
